A little help?

Hey guys, I have been rebuilding a side porch/deck for 3 years now. Finally the wife gave me the look u know what I mean. I got help coming in two weeks to get er done.

I have not alot of experience in this area, but I got a really good general feeling. From the top it looks bad, I got out today and pealed off the railing which was decrepit, and realized that the subframe of the deck was still solid as a rock. Its all 2x6 boards and really from that observation Imma leave it, I will replace all the top decking boards cause I want to do the natural look rather than painted. So heres the delima I was going to add about 4 more ft to her, how can I splice off the current subframe of the deck and go another 4ft?

Is this what im going to need? Can I get that to go there flush? I mean I want it close but if its not perfect its okay I guess.

you don't have to use something like that. since you already have access to the framing of the deck, just offset the joists on the four foot part.

or frame out your four feet like it was a separate piece and then butt it up to your existing deck and nail in place.

Make sure the foundation for the add on is solid, and will not settle later. That is the most important thing.
But like ChiefFX4 said. You have access to offset the joists, so there is no need for the other hardware, except Maybe on the outer edge.

Post pics of existing deck. The (I would call it fascia board for the deck) might look pieced depending on design. Might wanna replace it for a cleaner look.
