Suppose I open up iTunes, and want to burn one of my 400 albums which are located in iTunes to CD, must I make a playlist first?

So I create "New Playlist" and manually select each song from the CD to the playlist? Is there an easier way? Perhaps involving one or 2 clicks for the entire process?

Next Question once I have the album set up as a new playlist, how do I burn it to CD in the exact order it appears?

I tried it this morning and it burned it to disc in alphabetical order.
How do I get it exactly like the album?

You should just drag all the songs into a playlist and make sure they are in 123 order instead of alphabetical, then insert a disc and click burn in the bottom right corner. This is what I do on my MacBook.

 

For selecting an entire album, the easiest way would be to use the seach bar at the top right. Type in the artist and album. (ex. "santana best of") This will bring up any song that has those words in either the track name, artist, or album, so check your results and try to be specific. Next, click one song, then hit 'Ctrl-A' to select all the songs in the search result. Then just drag the selected songs to the playlist.

ITunes will burn the CD in whatever order you have your songs in your playlist; so, sort by track number. This should be the header second from the left if you have your headers in default order. I believe sorting by artists will also sort the playlist by track number.
