"Only very rarely has a person, to the same extent as Obama, captured the world's attention and given his people hope for a better future," the chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Thorbjorn Jagland, said in a statement.

Oh yeah? and what hope is that for a better future Mr. Jagland? Cuz right now I dont see anything changing.

IIRC, Hitler is nominated every year. Hell. I think he deserves to win sometime.

Sure he killed a few people, but he also singled handedly pulled the world out of the Great Depression.

Here we go :

"We hope this can contribute a little bit to enhance what he is trying to do"
~ Nobel Committee Chairman Thorbjoern Jagland

I woke up to hearing that he had won the award, and in my mind I kept asking "what has he done?" Sounds like the Nobel Committee is brown nosing.

I think the moon people have serious qualms w/Obama's Nobel Peace Prize win. He did just bomb them after all

When I first heard about Obama's newest accolade I thought perhaps @theonion had something to do with this.... but no.

Obama probably should have started with People Magazine's "Peaciest Man Alive" and worked up to the Nobel.

President Obama doesn't play in the NBA, but he likes to play pick-up games at the rec center. He was awarded the NBA Player of the Year for 2009 even though the season hasn't started yet. So, he hasn't done anything. But, because he likes to play and is a good ambassador to the game the NBA voted him the award! Congrats to Obama!!!

Report from Afghanistan: WTF do you mean obama won the PEACE prize?! Dont you jerks in Oslo read the damn AP news?????

Does this "intention" & "hope" thing work the other way around?

You get credit for thinking about doing something, so can you not take credit for thinking about not doing something you did?

i.e. Can I tell a cop "it wasnt my intention to speed" and get out of the ticket?

Right. This next year I plan on organizing 20 drives for cancer awareness, children with druggie parents, and diabetes. Can I have a NPP too?

That is a very Zen thing to post. I had to think about it for a moment.

If we are all interconnected, then you giving me a ticket, is like giving yourself a ticket.

He should use that $1.4 mil he wins to help pay off the debt he created.
