Harvard - Racist Test
Harvard - Racist Test
I found this on a MSN.com article.
How dumb are these Harvard professors?
I quickly found the flaw in her test.
1) The test has you quickly determine if a picture is or an African American or European American. Then it has you determine if a word is Good or Evil.
2) Then they do the same test with the words and Pictures combined having Good/Black being on the same side and Evil/White on the same side.
3) Then they do it again with only the Faces except Black and White is switched.
4) Lastly they do them combined with Evil/Black together and Good/White together.
They claim that if you do the 4th test faster than the 2nd test your are racist on a certain level.
The flaw is that it is easier to determine if a face is black or white vs. if a word has Good or evil connetations.
They need to do the same test but swap the Good/Evil not the White/Black.
Just another institution trying to keep racism alive and well in the US.

Unconscious racism
Harvard psychologist Mahzarin Banaji has developed a test designed to smoke out unconscious racial bias. The test requires the subject, under intensive time pressure, to match black and white faces with value-laden terms such as good, smart, and diligent or bad, stupid, and lazy. If you find it easier to match white faces with good terms and black faces with bad terms, you have exhibited what Banaji calls an implicit association between race and merit or virtue. Although she scrupulously avoids using the term herself, almost everyone else has predictably described the results of her research in terms of unconscious racism. And the results are disquieting: Almost 90 percent of whites exhibit some unconscious racism against blacks, while around half of all blacks exhibit anti-black bias.

lol.. the Race IAT is bs.. I didn't miss a single question and probably answered it just as fast as anyone else could have. Never did I answer a question in the first questionare that would indicate any bias towards either european americans or african americans.. yet my results were Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for European American compared to African American.
I'm assuming that because I answered I'm a 22 year old caucasian, they decided to fill in the rest of the blanks.. lol

I've done several of those type tests at my University for money.
But seriously, I'm racist. The test said so. I even answered the questionnaire afterwards.
I wonder if they'd change their mind if they saw my truck.

I did actually take it again and gave all the same answers except that I said I was black and had felt very comfortable (or whatever it was) around blacks.
It still said that I was moderately racist.
However I did put in my zip code and they probably figured out that I was lying about my race.
