Duramax Questions

Guys, I have a 2006 Chevy C5500 with a 6.6 Duramax. Then VIN is 1GBE5V1266F429237

The SES is on with the codes PO381 Glow Plug/ Heater indicator circuit malfunction and PO675 Glow Plug/ heater Cylinder 5.

The dealership says its not under warranty however, Glow plugs are included in the 5yr/100,000 mile warranty.

They say that the number 5 Glow Plug and Glow plug module need to be replaced, $600.00

What do you suggest? And yes I know its a Chevy, but its for work, had no choice...

You're likely to have a better response if you join a dedicated duramax forum and post your issue there.

It is the module for sure.

I would recommend scouting ebay or other online joints that sell Duramax parts.

Was this ~$600 to install too? Or just for the module.

I do know that they commonly go through them glow plugs and modules.

$600.00 to install module and #5 glow plug. My problem is that I just don't think that a truck that costs me $1300 per month and only has 42000 miles on it should require a $600.00 repair... Am I wrong?

You said it should be covered under warranty... I'd try another dealer.

does it have a programmer or anything that would make them void the warranty?

Does this truck have a plow on it by any chance? My BIL bought and 09 GMC 2500HD last year and he put a plow on the truck and GM cut the warranty in half because of the plow.

It's always good to have tools with you if you drive a Chebby.
