What the hell is wrong with people?!!!

I know this really isn't the place for this stuff.

Some of you may have seen this one on Drudge.

Chicago. The story, with accompanying video of kids beating another kid to death.

Fox Chicago-Video: Teen Attacked, Beaten to Death in Melee

I watched most of the video, and all I can think is, what the hell is wrong with people?!!! What kind of country do we live in where kids are beating each other TO DEATH. Even worse, what the hell kind of country are we living in where, what sounds like an adult man, shoots video of this child being beaten to death, without doing a damn thing?! Listen to the guy!

I know that some people will think, or say something about race, which changes nothing. These are KIDS beating other KIDS TO DEATH. This is an ADULT who whatches, and shoots video while this child is beaten to death, and does NOTHING to keep this child from being beaten TO DEATH.

Maybe I'm overreacting. I honestly thought that we were a better people. I know bad things happen. I know that there are bad people. This goes beyond that though. This is children, who have it in them, for what reason I don't know, to beat another to death, to KILL another. This is an adult, who for what reason I don't know, does NOTHING, nothing at all to keep this child from being beaten to death.

Does this kind of thing bother anyone else, or is it just me?

ummm, i wouldnt have gotten anywhere near that mess. That kid that died was right there, if you dont want to be involved, you should have left! There were 2 police officers down the street that wouldnt go near it, they were waiting for back up. So if two guys with guns wouldnt go near the scene, neither would i.

they should be given the right to shoot to stop threats. no head or chest shots. drop them to the ground where they dont want to fight.

makes me feel like its a third world country we're living in.

Sadly this stuff even happens in a small town like I'm in, except thankfully it didn't get violent. I saw it first hand too. I rolled up to a buddies appartment thats just off campus and its like an area with about 6 town houses. Well for whatever reason about 50 kids of the same race were all out in the street screaming and yelling at each other. Now this went on for about 30 minutes before the City Police department rolled up, but by then it was pretty well over. Now how is one person suppose to break up a 50 person fight? Now if about 5 kids were beating 1 kid I could forsee going and breaking that up, but when there is that many people chances are you are going to be lying next to that kid that was beat to death.

It's because america as a country is losing its moral foundation and the people running the country encourage this stuff.

This is the corollary of people not raising their kids with any basic morality or belief in a higher power (God). This instance is of course the lowest denominator.

When it's anything goes, anything goes. Life is reduced to fun. It can be given or taken away.

I agree 100%. So much so that if the kids doing the fighting are under 18, I say they should hold the parents responsibile also. Basic tolerance and respect starts in the household, and it's up to the parents to instill what's right in their children. This is rediculous, outside of a High School none the less.

Stuff like this has been going on since before Obama ever stepped into the political arena. I blame the parents and society.

All Obama can do is enact legislation and if he tries he'll have the NLA all over him.

The National Lumber Association is not going to stand by and let Obama try to fix this with controls.

It's not really Obama, but government in general.

All in all, it is the parents fault... but government encourages bad behavior these days.

Did you break the law? "Yes" Well, lets put you in jail where you can have three warm meals a day, a nice bed, TV, friends, activities, free care, ect so you don't have to take responsibility.

Do you want to work? "No" Well, here is some 'free' money... just try not to spend it on alcohol, drugs, strippers, ect so you don't have to take responsibility.

Do you want an abortion? "Yes" Well, we will pay it for you so you don't have to take responsibility.

Do you want a free house, clothes, food, water? "Yes" Here, we will pay it all for you so you don't have to take responsibility.

And on and on... Government loves ignorant voters, a vote is a vote right?

How bout this one, this happened about half an hour from when I live near St.Louis...
Its ridiculous, all this kid wanted to do was sit, and has the crap beaten out of him by 2 guys. Then, the father of the first attacker came on the news and defended his son, all while wearing a Reverend suit... The 2 kids that beat up the other kid got expelled and several students that egged the fight on got suspended.
