I am looking myself for a new handgun. Either a wheel gun in .357, or another 45. Or both. Just not sure what I want yet.

im by no means an expert, but i will give you my thoughts on it.

i bought my wife a 357/38 since she never shot before. it was good for her to learn on. she was afraid of my glock cause of never shooting. she has now gotten comfortable with the glock 19 and actually prefers it. i bought her the sig p238 cause it is smaller and she can put it in her pocket. if i were going to carry it would be the glock 19. i also have the glock 21c which has far better stopping power. so what it comes down to is what are you going to use it for. also i can bet you wont buy just one. i see you are in maryland, there is a gun show in timonium this weekend. go here for infohttp://newsite.appalachianpromotions.com/. guys at gun shows will talk your ear off. a few have an attitude cause "youre a beginner or newbie". but most are knowledgeable and willing to talk.

Believe me, I am not a newbie. Currently own 1 45, 1 44, 1 357, 1 40/357sig combo, and 1 40. And that is just the handguns. I reload for the 357, 44, and 45, so ammo usually isn't a problem. Getting time to do the reloading and shoot is the problem.
Have been to the Timonium show before, and find it just too crowded. Usually go to the Wesminster, Frederick, or Howard County shows.
Also not worried about the 1 a month rule in MD. Am listed as a collector by the police, so can purchase as many as I want.

No offense taken. Looking for the 357 is because I have a single action blackhawk and would like a double action. The 45 is because I love the 45 cartridge and 1911 action. Currently have a Kimber. Will probably get rid of the blackhawk and the 40s. Have had other 357s, 9mms, 22, etc. 9s are just too wimpy for home defense. Have the 357 and 44 for fun and use the 45 for the home defense and fun. For whatever reason, when they designed the 45 many decades ago, they made a weapon that seems to fit just about everybody's hands, big or small, and are easy too shoot.
