About a year ago FT. Brag initiated an Army wide post rehabilitation program due to a father seeing his sons living conditions in the barracks. It was a month of hell. Slave soldier work renovating all the fkin barracks to meet a new "standard" of bull crap.
I was stationed at FT.Riley then. Why did I have to suffer, I lived off post!?
Thanks FT. Brag, SOB's.
Ft. Broke and they're airborne which is really heli repel can go to hell.

Is that normal for a Sgt to just be a team leader and sometimes squad leader?
In the Marines we are team leaders as Lcpl's (e-3) or maybe a squad leader if you were just ***** hot. they must trust us a lot more.

After watching it all the way through I can say that most of that is them not cleaning! our buildings are all from the 40's and don't look that bad because every Thursday we clean for 3-4-5 hours or until they seem clean enough and yes it is white glove clean. Any other Marines on here know what im talking about.
here is what we have. keep in mind there the same age of buildings.

You cant clean when you're deployed.
GCW -- E1-E4 In the Army are usually just the drones. Some E4's will serve as squad leaders if a SGT lacks in the unit. In most cases the E4 will either be promoted to a CPL or skill crafted through the NCO board to an E5.
But most of the time E3 and under will lack any responsibility. As an E2, I was our Unit's Arms Room NCOIC is you will, there was no NCO in charge jsut me. About the most responsibility you'll see a private get.
When you make E4 you start getting to do things and be in charge of things to be pushed to get ready to beome an E5.
It was funny, as marines who joined Army and I worked with have mentioned that it seems marines lower enlisted are way more trusted to do things and the Army tends to micro manage everyone, even the ones in charge. A boss managing a boss so to say.
However, because the Marines are smaller, it is easier to allow an E3 to be in charge, where as most of the Army is lower enlisted. That and I assume promotion in the Army is a lot quicker.
Therefore the structure is adequate for the branch.
It's just the Army is a whole new beast with much more people to deal with. According to a survey the Army has 548,000 active duty while the Marines only have 201,031 active.

is that an "old iorn sides" patch?
they dont move units in when you deployed? as soon as we deploy there is another unit getting back or overflow that almost immediately fills up the empty rooms.
My cpl is from Agusta thats not to far from you is it? I know his dad is the sat-link guy down there

I was there in '74, spent my weekends on Hay St.
If my clunker wouldn't go I'd hop on a bus that ran from Bragg to downtown.
It was called the 'Vomet Comet'.
