Slightly over $150, but it's an ultra-compact.

Might want to take a look at the Sony's. I do not have the small point and shoots, but their higher end are excellent.

Best Compact Digital Cameras

Kodak Easyshare M1033

I always use cnet first when looking into stuff I know nothing about. They have some great video reviews.

I have the m1033.. it's an awesome little camera.. the menus are easy to navigate, perfect compact size, big screen, takes nice pictures and decent video, plenty of presets, and easy to use. You can easily find it at or under $150

I shopped around Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, Office Depot.. and etc... but the Kodak m1033 worked best for me. I wanted a compact camera that would easily and comfortable fit into my pockets for travel and vacationing. It seemed the most practical for my needs, just point and shoot, but it has plenty of options for presets or manual settings. The video captures fairly well considering its size, for up to 1280x720 HD video, it also captures audio suprisingly well.

To be honest.. it was all black.. so I was biased from the beginning!

I just bought a Nikon D3000 DSLR... I tried the D40... but it wasn't enough camera for me.

I love the D3000...

I know you aren't looking for a DSLR... but rather a compact camera... I do recommend looking at this website... they have sample pictures from almost any digital camera ever made.

Then again, a guy at work has a D700... now that's a sickkkkkkkkk camera.

Do yourself a favor if you buy a Kodak and do NOT install Easy Share - turn off the internal memory and store everything on the SD card and use a card reader.
