Obama Heckled

Congressman shouts, "You Lie!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyTelRaoBAI

Having read parts of the bill myself, (wish I would've noted the page numbers) Obama does lie. Illegals are covered under this bill.

I don't think you can get more disrespectful than to yell out "you lie" to the President of the United States during a live speech to the nation...

Sure you can. As the President, as the leader of this country, as the representative of this country to the rest of the people in this world, you can blatantly lie to the American people.

Not like it matters, anyways. The Communist News Network says that Wilson issued an apology not long after .

I guess I've lived in the south too long. Respect is earned no matter who you are or what office you hold. The President gets respect with the office until he abuses it. This president is an embarrassment. When his advisors were asked about Obama saying that he wants you to have your own healthcare provider if you want, they stated- You cannot take the president literally.....and that's a quote. If I can't take the SOB at his word, he gets no respect. But there is one happy person about Obama being president. Jimmy Carter is smiling big now. He's no longer the worst president to ever hold the office.

Yeah, I guess that's one positive. Maybe the rest of the country will finally forgive Georgia for Jimmy Carter.

You say that like no President has ever lied to the people, "I am not a crook", "We did not -- repeat -- did not trade weapons or anything else for hostages -- nor will we", "I did not have sexual relations with that woman", etc.

Did he revise his plan to not cover immigrants or did he actually flat out lie?

I just copied and pasted this from yahoo... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090910/...are_fact_check

OBAMA: "The reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally." One congressman, South Carolina Republican Joe Wilson, shouted "You lie!" from his seat in the House chamber when Obama made this assertion.

THE FACTS: The facts back up Obama. The House version of the health care bill explicitly prohibits spending any federal money to help illegal immigrants get health care coverage. Illegal immigrants could buy private health insurance, as many do now, but wouldn't get tax subsidies to help them. Still, Republicans say there are not sufficient citizenship verification requirements to ensure illegal immigrants are excluded from benefits they are not due.

You sorely need to study United States history and see how the founding fathers conducted business. Lets just say they kept each other honest.

Unless that part of the bill has been redacted in the last 3 weeks, illegals are covered under the bill. It specifically states that they are not to be denied. I'm kicking myself for not noting the page #'s of the bill. The key is that there are not stringent enough ID checks being utilized.

You're half right. Personally.. I'm not much for politics.. but I work in healthcare, so I've atleast tried to follow along.

The way it's read is that they won't have access to government health insurance. But that doesn't mean they can't have access to healthcare if they don't have health insurance. So basically.. it doesn't matter either way.. but it's not the same thing.

Right now, just about anyone can walk into a hospital and receive healthcare.. whether or not you can afford it or have health insurance. That doesn't change with the new bill.

Illegals get free healthcare under the bill. The 'insurer' is the American taxpayer. This bill will cause even more illegal immigration.

lol.. Illegals already have access to free healthcare. Like I just said, just about anyone can walk into a hospital and recieve free healthcare regardless if you can pay for it. What difference does it make if they are illegal? What's your point?

Dude.. if you want to debate and say otherwise, post some links up.. I don't recall anywhere in the bill it stating that illegals will have access to government health insurance. Health insurance and healthcare are two different things. Mind you, there are some sneaky illegals out there who can manage to beat the system through fraud, but that's a different topic altogether.

Last I checked, while illegals may not be citizens, the ones that actually manage to work real jobs still have to pay taxes through paycheck dedcutions..

Most illegals are paid under the table. Even near here in Gainesville, they have their own backdoor court system and pay cash for their fines.

Yes, you can walk into a public hospital and receive healthcare, but you will still get a bill in the mail. A friend, who has no health insurance had kidney stones in July and has already gotten the bills for the visit and CAT scan. So to say that it's free right now, is not true.
