Try CCleaner and run the cleaner to remove old caches files/paths and whatever is left from those CDs.

Also, you can hit open the start menu, right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties". From there find the tab labeled "Advanced". Click on Settings, tab over to Advanced, and at the bottom there will be a section that says "Virtual Memory". Click change. There will be 2 boxes saying initial size and maximum size. A recommended range is usually posted there, so set initial value in that range.

I can try and find a video if needed.

just a couple of days ago i did the start menu option and went pretty high.....then just a little while ago it came to a standstill and said virtual memory is low....but this time it made an adjustment on its own....
it has been awhile, but i haven't deleted history etc....but i have it set to only keep for i believe 10 days or less.....how about other programs....?
msconfig have any info i can use? if so, if i copy and past somehow can someone manage to help me delete non useful info?
