Helped my son get his first car yesterday

I'm proud of him for finally saving up his money and getting himself a car. I helped him find a good deal, which ended up being a great deal, especially considering some of the absolute CRAP that people were trying to sell in his price range around here. I'm really glad this one didn't end up in Obama's clunker pile, because it should be a fantastic first vehicle for him.

1990 Cherokee Sport
92k miles
very clean, runs perfect, no leaks, no noises, well maintained
$1000

Only problems, front tires need to be changed to match size of rears before he can use 4wd, and the turn signals don't flash. 4-ways flash, but not the turn signals. I'm guessing it needs a flasher (?).

I have never owned a Jeep, but this little rig is likeable. Lots of torque, really tight turning radius, feels solid.

For $1,000... you did incredible.

The interior looks like it just rolled off the line.

Your title is misleading. You gotta represent that Jeep!

Very nice grab for him. He'll enjoy it a lot. Stick a 3" BL on it and some bigger MTs and he's set.

That's all kinds of awesome for $1K. It looks like it's in really good shape overall too.

Can't go wrong with an older Jeep Cherokee. Lots of aftermarket parts and quite reliable. Does it have the 4.0 straight 6?

Thanks all! Yes it has the 4.0. It definately has good low end power for such a small vehicle. I can't wait to get some wrenches out and start showing him how to perform routine maintenance. We'll start with all fluids, and go from there.

Nice job. Jeep are natorius for having the blinkers quit working. My girl friends jeep's right blinker works, but left blinker stays solid. Not exactly sure what the problem is. From experience I can tell you that you got an amazing deal on that. The jeep we used to off-road we bought for that kind of money and it had a blown engine in it.

Sweet find and price. Could it be the stalk/sick that isn't engaging right to make the flash not work? I would assume the flasher relay works, so should the blinkers.
