I'm not trying to take away anything from Bama, but beating VT by 10 points didn't impress me much. The last time VT played an SEC team they lost 48-7.

Last time VT played an SEC they weren't a dark horse pick to win the title.. Ya a few ESPN analysist (i know it doesn't mean too much coming from an ESPN analysist but that is their job) picked VT to make a push to be the National Title holders if something happened to go amiss with Florida.

The Tide just can't get respect. Even when they were #1 last year, everyone talked about how good Florida and USC was, granted Florida did beat Bama in the SEC championship.

The last time VT played an SEC team was week 2 in '07, and they were #9 in the polls, and finished #9 in the polls. At the end of the regular season they were one of the teams that had a shot at the National Championship game, but didn't get in based on their loss to LSU in week 2.

We'll find out what Bama really has when they play their first SEC game.

Very exciting game, and a great measuring stick for the rest of the season. When the Tide gets some things worked out, this team has the potential to be something really special. Not even Teabag will be able to stop them!
Roll (no dam needed) Tide!!!

They were overrated last year and this year too it seems to me. Go ahead and rank Bama up there, it's awesome to hear the fans make excuses. Bama should have beat the snot out of VT like they did Clemson and most everybody else last year. Don't forget Bama got their asses handed to them by Utah also.

Bama has a cake-walk of a schedule this year.

Guess we'll just see then. Seems like a great win to me considering we lost our Qb, RB, and a couple OL. Oh yea and win Utah beat Bama I'm thinking we had 3 starting O-Linemen out. Take it for what it is, but teams are built arounf D line and O line. So when you have 3 unfamiliar players in in a championship game, it makes it more of a challenge. But hey whatever even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. I'm more of a NFL fan then College football. I'm ready for week 1 in NFL to start up!

Spoken like a typical auburn fan....

Don't worry Ian, we will "beat the snot" out of auburn again this year, in your house, no less

So, which is it? Beat the snot out of most everybody or overrated?

Clemson was waaaay overated at the beginning of the season last year. VT looked pretty decent, they should've let the QB loose a little more, may have changed the game a bit. Tide's got some work to do. I was impressed that the QB didn't lose it for them & seems to have a decent arm. IIRC, one INT & that was b/c he was hit as he threw the ball.

Not all AU fans think this way, I pull for any SEC team as long as they're not playing Auburn or Bama. (AU 1st and foremost though)

If Bama plays the season like they played the 4th quarter of the VT game, they will be VERY hard to beat. VT isn't that good IMO, Taylor kind of sucks.

2nd that! There are some classless fans on both sides. It's nice to hear from one of the exceptions!

Good luck this year, until 11/27 of course!
