Are these mainly east coast stores? Reason I ask is I've never heard of them.

Circuit City was never any good, nor even necessary. Same with Best Buy, only worse if that's possible. Absolute absurdity with their prices being higher than the majority of other sources whether brick/mortar or online. I used to think that the Good Guys sucked until those two showed up. Yet BB is busy anytime I've been near it, or Heaven forbid– in it. It really makes no damn sense. If you can't get it at Costco locally, Amazon, or a few others online, then you're not doing your homework.

Personally, I loathe Best Buy... I have lots of reasons but, on the flip side, I always left Circuit City feeling as though I'd like to go back and like I got good information from their associates.

The entire paradigm with 'big box' stores annoys me but, between BB and CC, I'd pick CC any day.
Eh, I think best buy is better . Circuit city's version of the Geek Squad was especially horrible to me.

Circuit is most deffinitly not back. Someone bought out the rights and is blowing through whatever random stock of whatever they may still have, or dealing in gray market type stuff. Like someone else said im pretty sure its the same company that owns the rights to what used to be CompUSA.

I'll tell you what, I LOVE working at best buy, especially back in the bay where I am at. I work with two other great guys, and have quite a few friendships develop. For a huge global corporation, we get treated pretty damn good, and the HR side is very hourly-employee friendly. If any of ya'll have ever had a bad experience, give it another shot, or get in contact with me. Theres nothing that cant be done over the phone, and I promise i'll take care of you as best I can.

I've heard mixed reviews about working at best buy. I could never get an interview there though so I never got to see for myself.

Oh the things I could say, and the quotes I could respond to as a 6 year employee of CC. Do I like the place? Not necessarily. Do I defend them? When its warranted (rarely). Will I get into it? NOPE, new job which I love. past is the past.

But like said before, they are NOT back. They may open a few stores later (IE Compusa, internet only for a long time, now about 5-10 stores are back), so they might open some, but definately not the 677 they had when they went under.

They only bought the name. It is an online business only. Stock was already liquidated. It the same company as Tiger Direct, Systemax and CompUSA.

Nationwide/worldwide online retailers, just like Newegg and others. Systemax is just a holding company, I believe. They also make the Ultra products that you can find on those sites.

Companies like that I have no use for. They GET the quick buck and move on. No service, no warranty. They get my money ONE TIME and thats it.

These days SERVICE is what sells products. Service is priceless in my opinion. I only deal with trusted companies I've come to trust...thats the way they stay in business by having people like me.

I have been doing business with my tire man, mechanic, a few restaurants for better than 24 years. thats why they are still around. I can ALWAYS count on them.
