I found this on craigslist and i was thinking of getting it, let me know what you think.

without a doubt. that 302 5.0L is a great motor. i would definately go check it out check out the paint and if the body is straight with no ripples. but still, for 6,800 u could do clean it up and it needs to be. (like the few rusts spots) go for it!
There's too much rust showing for me. No way would I buy that car. If you want an older car like that, buy it from a southern owner. Preferably from a dry climate. No way is a Michigan car, with that much rust showing, worth the effort or the money it's going to cost keep it from rusting out from under you.

I Am trying to see if I can get a loan before I go see it. I dont think the rust is too bad, I talked to him on the phone and he said it could use a new paint job which kinda makes me a little nervous. Ill just have to wait and see what the bank says.
Worn out front supension and shot steering boxes are common on older Mustangs, so check those out. You'll know when you test drive it.
The stock '69 302 is not great powerhouse; looks like that one has been warmed over with some cosmetic and minor power upgrades, but if it has the stock cam and heads I would not expect too much in terms of power. And if it has a 3.00 or 2.79 rear, it's not going run real strong.
Stock bore and block either indicates low mileage or it could be ready for new pistons and an overbore.
How long has the owner owned the car?
Looks like the kind of car someone buys rough for $2,500, cleans it up nice, puts on new wheels, tires and cosmetic upgrades to the motor (air cleaner, plug wires, valve covers) with a few modest performance parts (manifold, carb, distributor).
All fine and dandy, but if the front suspension is shot, the steering box is totally worn out, and the car has rust and needs paint...well, those things hurt the value.
BTW, it looks like a bare bones 302, probably originally a 2 barrel carb. This was basically a secretary's car back in '69, except for the bright color and new wheels. Sure, it's got classic good looks, but this is not a 'muscle car' unless the mods to the motor are substantial (cam, heads, etc...)

If you are buying it to drive and not planning on working on it skip it. The exhisting rust will eat the car out from under you. All the other parts on it that are 40 years old will be falling off and all the things you can't see that have been half-a$$ed over the years make this car a headache to use as a daily driver.

I'd stay away from that one altogether. 1969-1970 302 coupes just don't have much value in the market compared to the fastback or convertible. Nor are they the best looking Mustangs, and that's being polite. The 1964-1968 coupes are better buys–hell, even the 1971-1973 coupes are more attractive, imo.

The rust looks pretty bad in the trunk.I am guessing it will need quarter on it.Also look at the rocker panel on the passenger side. looks to be bubbling up.I bet there is some bondo in that area also.The $4500 is too much for it.If you don't do the work yourself you are looking at $6000-10,000.A good paint job now days with a good PPG paint will run you Thousands.I bet you will need to put $6000 - $10,000 grand in it.To get it nice.

He did say the suspension has been replaced along with the breaks. I dont know about the steering box. The engine has been rebuilt, but i dont know to what extent. He has owned the car for 10 years and him and his dad had worked durring that time. He is trying to sell it so he can have money for a down payment on a house. It will be a couple of days before I could go see it so I dont know if it will still be there. I just wanted more opinions and info before i went to go see it. Thanks for the comments,
