Donation for a GREAT cause.

Going to be doing a 175 mile bike ride for Multiple Sclerosis. Requires me to raise at least $300 in donations. Any penny helps and it is for a GREAT cause. Thank you for your support.

More personal story on the whole thing.
Well, as some of you might have seen, I bought a road bike not to long ago for transportation and exercise. Come to find out the guy at work that I run local 5ks with also bikes, and he was telling me about this Multiple Sclerosis 150 mile bike ride, also known as the MS150. It is a bike ride from the western side of NJ to the eastern shore. It is a two day event. Classically you do 75 miles both days, but my friend is doing the optional extra 25 mile loop the first day, so I decided to sign up for that. So, 100 miles the first day, and 75 the second.
After some thought I decided to sign up for it. Upon registration, you are suppose to raise at least $300 for the National MS Society. Which researches cures, and also helps those currently with MS. Tons of great information in the link I provided if you would like to read more.
Now I just want to let everyone know, this is not some easy task for me. I am by no means a "roadie". Up to this date, I have only logged around 60 miles on my bike, and that was with three 20 mile rides. I have 40 days to train for this, and I am going to need all the support I can get. Wether it is financial donations to the cause through the link. Or moral support through praise or prayer.

After it is all said and done, I will post up pics from the event for viewing pleasures. And expect to see some of me with a painful look on my face.

I've heard this saying B4? "scratch my back and I'll scratch yours..." or something like that. You didn't do that for me this month so guess what?

I've always consider myself a winner. Where do I send my donation.

P.S.
Glad to know that your happiness includes the happiness of others, that my man, is very wise of you. Keep up the good work.

Never heard that quote before. That is a good one. Gonna have to remember that.
For donations you can follow the link I posted, and under the graph on the left, there is a link to set you up to donate. All online too, so you don't have to mail anything out.

Thanks for the support.

You mentioned that you, yourself, have to raise $300, will the system recognize donation was made out to you, or how does this work? Edited my second post BTW.

If you use the link, it will recognize that it was made out to me. You can either click, "Donate to Josh", or "Donate to particiapte". When you do that, on the following page, it should say at the top, "Thank you for your gift to New Jersey - Bike MS: City to Shore Ride 2009 on behalf of Joshua Clark".

You've got some good quotes btw. Always nice to hear.

Well bro, I tried to wake people up to muster all the care, kindness, and understanding they can, and to do it with no thought of any reward, with this post https://www.f150online.com/forums/ge...es-around.html but was to no avail.

Now brotha, don't feed your mind with negative thoughts. If you do, you will come to believe them. Self-confidence and a belief in yourself is a must. To instill confidence in others, you first must have confidence in yourself. You are in charge of your feelings, beliefs, and actions. While you cannot change other people, you can influence them through your own behaviors and actions. By being a living role model of what you want to receive from others, you create more of what you want in your life. Once again good luck with your quest and take care.

Thanks man. I appreciate all the help, support, and the kind words.

Just got done riding actually, and man those padded shorts sure do help. I feel like I am wearing a diaper, but at least my goods didn't feel like they were getting danced on by leprechauns the whole time.

Yea, Im doing ok since that fall. It was really hot that day, so the water did feel good.

Bike riding is going good. Hardest thing is trying to stay comfortable while sitting on the seat for over an hour.

Still need help on hitting the $300 mark. Just $80 short. Every penny helps. Just one dollar from each person that views General Discussion each day would put me well over the $300 mark.

Thanks for all the support.
