Help me ID this clamp

Hey guys,

I went in to my other job today to work for a few hours and showed my boss the new camera. He gave me an old tripod that has been sitting around for quite a while. It works great but is missing a part. I'm going to have to rig up something myself for the camera, but I want it to be as sturdy as possible.

In the picture below you can see how this little clamp attaches to the tripod. On the side of the clamp in the picture you can see where another clamp is supposed to connect. This is the part that is missing.

I was wondering if you guys knew what this clamp was called so I could find it at Lowe's and rig something up. I keep coming up with terms like "screw clamp" when I google it but nothing really turns up that I can buy. I appreciate any help!!

looks more like a quick disconnect deal to me.

on the other piece you would push a button then insert that **** into a hole on the other piece. release of the button locks everything into place but still allows the other piece to rotate. don't think it's a fixed clamp.

Now that you mention it...it does look like a quick disconnect, but I don't believe it is.

Found this picture online of a stock tripod and it's really close to what I have now. I'll be creating the part on top that the camera mounts to. You can see where the other piece is supposed to connect.

I've taken a picture of the tripod I have and tried to angle it the same as the online photo. I was just wondering if there was a specific name for this type of clamp. It reminds me of the types of clamps that go on bike posts for the reflectors.

Look for 'tripod heads' and search through all the styles, you might get lucky.
