Only In Montgomery, Alabama

Check out these photos from Montgomery Alabama. The photos speak for themselves.

What If you have some mattresses that you need to move and you don't have a pickup truck or a van, why not use your car?

Of course, if you were going to do that, you would want to exercise caution and safety for the motoring public around you as you are traveling to your destination.

The very least that you could do is take some rope and tie the mattresses down to the top of the car and secure them in a snug and tight manner before you leave out of your drive. What if you only have your car and you don't have any kind of rope around?

Why not place the mattresses on top of your car and then get two guys to lay on top of the mattresses to hold them down as you proceed out of the drive and down the street?

Just be really careful and don't exceed the speed limits and also make sure you are going very slow when you turn from one street onto another.

Never mind that all of this is against the law, but what the heck, when you need some mattresses to sleep on tonight.

I just knew no one would believe this when I told them, so, I took some pictures for show and tell.

Pictures taken on Gilmer Ave. in Montgomery, Alabama, on Wednesday, July 15, 2009.

These photos were taken by Cpl. Steve Smith with the Montgomery County Sheriffs Office.

^^LOL That's too funny. I'm sure worse has been done a little further south of Montgomery in Opp and Florala where most of my family's from. I've seen stuff take place down there that the average person couldn't imagine.

A co-worker of mine married a girl from Alabama, and when you hear stories about how her clan operates back home it's almost unbelievable! Most of the stories from when they go back for Holidays start with something like, "Uncle Charlie was so drunk we had to lift him up into the bed of his truck.....!"

The line my co-worker always likes to use is, "When in Alabama, do as Alabamans do!"

Opp, they don't like "north folk" coming down and speeding thru the town. I got hit for a 9 over there. I love the area though but it is a bit in the past as you venture through. Great people for the most part. Wait, I thought it was against the law not to own a truck in the south???? LOL

The mattress would save them.

i guess thats better than tying them down with twine and driving down the freeway like i see all the time on top of cars and suv's
at least this way they can only go so fast and they have some one to give them an update on how the mattresses are doing

Reminds me of something I saw as I was getting off of I-85 behind a truck...

Yeah, He's sitting on the very end of the bed rail.
