I've been dealing with the same guy since 1986. The last 2 trucks I bought from him I never saw or drove until after I had signed the papers. I just call the guy and tell him what I want and he gets it. I pay invoice plus $100.00. My trade he already knows that my trucks are immaculate and it hasn't been an issue so far. Yeah, he makes more than a hundred but I don't have to take a half a day and have a match of intelligence with a moron and maybe still not have a deal worked out. If you are new to a dealership, I would suggest asking for the guy that has been there the longest and just flat tell the guy your looking a life long relationship with a car salesman. Trust me, you just got his attention and he'll just about assault the boss to make you the best deal he can. But you have to deal with a guy that has been there for years, not some newby. There's a lot of shafting the sales folks when they are new. The dealerships like new salesmen because they immediately put them on the phone calling friends to buy. Once they've gone thru that, most fall out of the business. That's why yer looking for the guy that has done this for years.

If your still looking for a vehicle pm me. I know a dealer ship that is about 3 hours from Alexandria, Va in NC. This is by far one of the best dealerships that I've ever dealt with. Maybe these guys can help you.

If a buyer gives a bad survey score does the dealer find out which buyer gave the survey score?

Im going to say yes, but other dealers might be different. My friend and I went a picked up an Infiniti M45x for him. 08 with 9k miles and good price but there were some scratches. Dealer said they would take care of them and repaint it. Well takes delivery of car at night and finds out car was touched up and not painted. Dealer goes back and forth with him and says its touch up paint and sorry there was a misunderstanding but thats it. Its not bad and he can live with it. One week later survey call comes in and he rips into the dealer. 2 hours later head manager is on the phone apoligizing saying to my friend he told the sales man to take care of it (we all know its bull). Next day the dealer is at his front door with a flat bed and a brand new G37x as a loaner. Dealer had whole nose and one quarter panel of the M45x painted.

I've always thought the way Ford handled their surveys was asinine! The fact that anything less than a 100% perfect score is a "failure" tells me they don't really want to know how your experience was -- they only want to hear what they want to hear.....

As far as building an ongoing relationship with a sales rep goes -- it's a great idea, but difficult to do. I've purchased (4) new Fords in the last four years and for each transaction I've called the dealer and asked for the sales rep who handled my last sale. In every instance, this sales rep was no longer with the company.....

Heres a rant for you!! I traded in my 05 FX4 for an 06 lariat at the end of 06, so there wasnt many to choose from with the color and trim i wanted, but they found one in Iowa...I live in MO. SO i signed papers and the deal was done....They took my truck and said the new rig would be here in a week and they gave me an 07 lariat to drive in the mean time. Couple days later i saw my truck, its hard to mistake its wheels and tires and other things i had done to it, kinda sad to see it, but o well. Then my phone rang "we have a problem, that truck has been sold, the dealership up there made a mistake" WHAT! So now i have no truck and mine is being driven by someone else. Talk about nervous. They ended up finding one with a lot more options for the same price. SIGNED PAPERS again! Two days later they call....."we have a problem" What now??? The truck turns out is a demo and has 5000 miles on it...! They gave me an ok deal so i took it. Its what i wanted and the price was right for me...but geesh! whats with the games

All Ford sees is that you weren't "completely satisfied," and that's all they care about.

The surveys are really, really important to dealers, but they defeat the purpose of the survey with the way they grade them. How are we/they supposed to learn from our mistakes and become better, if there's no in-between on the survey? It's stupid.
yea we get service surveys here as well, and a 70 or 80 or even 90 isnt good enough

There's an option on the survey that the buyer can check, it's worded something like "Would you like Anytown Ford to view the full details of this survey?" with a yes or no selection.

I've never seen a survey where it shows specifically who filled it out, for whatever that's worth.

I just filled out the survey for my 2009 Ranger yesterday -- there was a box you could check which would allow you to hide your name and any written comments from the dealer.

Well the big day is tomorrow. My wife and I head there to get the tags put back on her car and the to sign papers for the "new" one from Kentucky. If they stil lrefuse to budge on the $125, plus more just due to the overall priceipal of the thing I am walking and driving 30 miles to another dealer and ordering a brand new one to be built.

One of the guys I work with bought an 09 Focus from there yesterday and said he had a great experience, so I will be heading there in all likelihood. So, unfortunately I will probably not get to fill out that survey, but I will def. make my opinion known and would never refer anyone to them.
