Might have to sell the boat.
Might have to sell the boat.
I've been debating this for quite some time now, but I think it has to be done. The only reason the boat hits the water now is because my friends put the gas in it.
It's an 07 Pioneer Venture 175, Carolina Blue. Suzuki 115 motor.
I bought it brand new, off the lot July of last year. It gets run once a week for 9 months total now, a couple fishing trips during the winter, so I would say 150-200 hours on it. I have kept up with it so it is in very good condition. I'll see if I can't find some pictures of it. First boat so I hate to think of parting with it.
But anyway, I was thinking of putting it on the market for $20K in september. Think that is a good starting price?

I hate to bust yer bubble but as we all know a boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into. According to NADA, the value of the boat only is $7820 average resale price. The motor brings another $5610. to the table for a grand total of $13,430 for an average price. Unless you find a moron with CASH, the $13,000 is about it as no bank is going to lend more money for the buyer to give you. That's why I have consistently told folks here that inquire about buying a first boat to buy used. The NEW boat may seem like a great idea but the moment you put it on the hitch, it just fell in half as far as value goes. Best of luck, yer gonna need it.

it also doesn't help that the people i tie up with all have 25' or bigger bajas and checkmates. it's all their fault.

this is just a sample of what i have to look and listen to. haha.
Nice rig. If I were to get the fever this time of year, that one could do it to me.

It sure is pretty, but I firmly believe in the old adage that the second happiest day of your life is when you buy your boat -- the happiest day of your life is when you sell your boat.....
haha, yea i keep hearing that.
haven't had any real issues with anything. scariest part was when the hose slipped off the bilge pump. thought i had burned it out by leaving it on one time so one day forgot to put the plug in and couldn't get the water out of the boat. was enough weight in the back so i couldn't get on plane but we beached it and i got in there to see what was up. an adjustment of the hose clamp and everything was golden.
That is a nice boat, bit small for where I am located on the Chesapeake Bay, but I am looking at dual console boats like that one for fishing and cruising. I'm really liking the Sea Hunt Escape 200. Good luck with your sale, though.
