Government should have no say in car regulations. If I want to have a safe car, then I will pay extra for it. Don't have government put the car makers in a choke hold unless they do what government wants.

The reason everyone has to pay for it is because no one will. You can't have only a select few pay for it because that will not generate enough revenue to pay for nationalized health care. If you give people the choice to pay for it, they won't.

 

Actually, Bluejay, the stats that I have read have indicated that Medicare is actually MORE COST EFFECTIVE than private insurance...and that there is less waste with the govt. than there is with private insurance.

Actually, my parents are retired and on Medicare---plue other insurance as my father was a teacher, as well...so yes---their helathcare with the private and the gov't. is pretty effective, i would say---my father had to have a stent put into his heart a couple of years ago---wham, bam thankyou ma'm (the cariologist is a woman) and everything---including the Medicare stuff---was taken care of---and guess what0---he wasn't denied and he didn't have to wait, either.
