Texas Driveway Laws?
Texas Driveway Laws?
Okay here's the situation my house doesn't have a front driveway i think cause it's on the corner, and i want to make a DIY driveway and i was planning on digging just a little bit like 1 or 2 inches and placing concrete bricks like these

in two rows together for the tires of the truck/vehicle to be on, and i was going to do each row about 1 1/2 Feet to 2 Feet. and in between the two rows was just going to be grass
now here are my questions/concerns
i don't have a driveway entrance but i was just planning on parking the expy there when i dont use which means it would sit there for 1 to 2 months
now my wife says that there's a law against making that kind of driveway and/or that i would get a ticket or something for making that kind of driveway
i want to know if there's anything in this DIY driveway that could be against any texas laws? or could i get a ticket for any of this? i mean the truck isn't going to be sitting on the ground it's going to be sitting on concrete the only problem that i could think of is that they would start complaining about that there isn't any driveway entrance...
i would like any input on some of the questions i asked or is there any other things that could cause a problem

EDIT: I just noticed my post number is 777 haha

If you live in a deed restricted community, this type of driveway probably wouldn't pass muster. If you don't, I doubt there'd be much complaint -- you could check with your local building code department just to make sure.
Since you said it is a corner lot, there will be line of sight restrictions in regards to the intersection so that traffic can safely negotiate the intersection. It usually requires a set back of around 25 ft before your driveway can start but it's also subject to the local restrictions as well. Your best bet is to call down to the Building Permits section of your local entity and inquire before doing it. Fines can hefty for non-compliance.
Agreed. Have in the past use 4" blocks as a ramp for changing my oil. Until after about 2 uses and it just flattened. Since then, I only use solid 4" blocks.
well they are solid blocks i used that pic to give you guys a demonstration of what i was going to do

Check with your city first...
There may be requirements or limitations. The last thing you want is to doo all that work, not to mention the cost of material, then be forced to dig it all up.
Lastly, in today's environmentally aware world, chances are it won't pass because of your truck develops a leak the oil or gas will leak into the soil and contaminate it. (Yes, I know it's probably not leaking today, but what about 5, 6 yeas from now). It's for those reasons why the city may not let this type of driveway pass... (EPA reasons, and sightliness reasons).
