I had always heard that it was legal to open carry with out a permit. you only need a permit to conceal it.

I don't know much on gun laws, but I imagine that varies from state to state

I bet he gets strip searched the next time he tries to board an airplane though! Good for him for knowing his rights and the law!

I'm not sure that this is legal.

I'm sure that there is a law written somewhere that say's secret service has a right to disarm anyone with in "X" yards of the POTUS.

If I had to guess. I'd say that they assessed the situation and determined that he's not a threat.

Then decided it wouldn't be in Obama's best political interest right now to arrest or disarm him.

I don't think he wants to poke the Conservative hornet's nest that he has been creating.

I have always voted for our local reigning congressman who is a democrat. Ike Skelton.

One of my best friends even is one of his top aids. I never really thought about it too much, I just voted for him because he is a right leaning Democrat and he's pro-military.

I'm gonna get a list of his votes before the next election and if I disagree with one major one, I'm not voting for him. Even if it means my buddy is out of a job.

That being said here is a email conversation I just had with my buddy.

Me
Kyle,

what's Ike's take on the health care reform bill?

Also how was this weekend? Did you have to fight off any "old timer" capitalists at any town hall meetings?
His Response
Here is what he told a reporter when asked about it this weekend, “I haven’t made up my mind. We don’t even have the bills yet. I can find something wrong with each version of the health care bill at this point.”

Didn’t have to crack any heads. Ike did a good job. First thing he would do is walk over to the crowd (protestors), move down the line talking and shaking their hands. That wasn’t good enough for all of them but I do think they all appreciated him talking to them.

Hmmm. We are a nation of laws. This person isn't breaking any law. What's MSNBC's issue?

I would assume that this man is from the state of NH, who's slogan is "Live Free or Die". He is within his right's.

If we were a majority rule nation, then public opinion could dictate that this man couldn't cary a gun with in a certain distance of the president. Maybe that he couldn't carry a gun at all. In NH I guess he'd be dead, because he wouldn't be living free.

The TV video says that the officers on duty, there, have a keen eye on the guy with the gun. What a perfect opportunity for someone with a concealed gun, who's already breaking laws, to break another one without being stopped.
