I just got off of the phone with my now ballistic nephew. He is an attorney and a darn good one. He has gotten into Constitutional Law as a hobby and he called the office of Ciro Rodriquez, which is his Congressman, and his aids would not tell him about his schedule for any public meetings. They would, however, put his name on a list and if they wanted him at any of the public meetings, they would call him. Like everybody else, my nephew is concerned about the healthcare bill and has questions he wants to ask in a public forum. You might ask your Congressman about his schedule and see if they are available. And to think, we actually elected these guys to represent.........?

 

Easy now, I'm extremely proud to say that not ONE person I voted for made it to office. Can't blame me.

 

I called my reps local office. The aid, that I'll sarcasticly call Mr. Sunshine, told me that they'd relese the schedule in early Sept. So I'm holding my breath till the schedule comes out.

There is too much noise at these meetings. I can understand the frustration though. How long are we supposed to be lied to about something that we can read ourselves before we get pissed off?

My rep has lied through his teeth for years. The people in his district are justified in being pissed off at him.

 

Mine is having an open meeting this week at a breakfast place in KC... I got an email from Obama about it encouraging me to go.

 

One of our congressmen may be detained for awhile, like 20 to 30 yrs. Dollar Bill Jefferson. Another one bites the dust!

 

Just got another email today telling me how to contact other congressmen in my area from Obama.

 

My congressman is a relatively conservative Rebublican, Kevin McCarthy.

His office left me a pre-recorded voicemail message that he will be doing a 'virtual' town hall meeting via telephone, and I was welcome to call in and listen.

My guy is one of the 'good guys, IMO. But that's a CS way to report to your bosses, if you ask me.

I'll bet many, many, congressman refrain from face to face meetings with the masses these days.

 

Actually...how much money did you donate? How many hours did you spend campaigning for your guy? If your answer is "any waking moment I wasnt obligated to do something else," then yeah...

I only spent about 30 hours calling on behalf of McCain, Pearce(Senate Candidate) & Tinsely(Rep Candidate)...I didnt vote for McCain, voted for Pearce and voted for Tinsely (but didnt like him), and I could've still spent more time on the phone calling people, walking neighborhoods and donating spare money. The money I did donate went to Ron Paul.

Unless you can say you tried your damnedness to get your guy elected, then you cant 100% say "it isnt my fault." I cant even say it isn't my fault after spending time volunteering, and donating money. It is AMERICA'S fault that we have elected who we have.

 

I feel it's not the voter's fault, it's voter apathy's fault. That's why we have who we have.

The problem with this country is most Americans have splinters in their hind ends from sitting on the sidelines for so long, not even paying attention to the game.

 

The two folks I mentioned were for live face to face events with citizens. That is cool that the republicans are having virtual meetings though.

I have donated about $300 to democrats in the last two years. I have spent about 20 hours in my life walking neighborhoods and talking to people about democrats.

 

I'm still waiting for an call or email from the RNC or an insurance company. I'd really like to meet with my rep. All the dem. reps around here are doing the tele-townhall meetings.

I've beel looking around for the republican and insurance groups that want to pay me to protest Obama's health care plan. All I can find is:
