Gotta love Texas politics

Rep. Lloyd Doggett from S Austin, Democrat, was in town to address folks concerns about ObamaCare. Here's what happened:

I wonder if he got the message?

I've asked my rep if he is planning any town hall meetings. I don't know how many our reps are going to have if they think that they might encounter something like this. The thing is there are people all over this country who are quite hot under the collar about the speed and direction this government is heading this country.

My guess is that most of our reps aren't going to be able to take the heat and will stay out of the public, further alienating their constituents.

It's too bad that it's come to this. It'd be nice if we could discuss the issues civilly. Civility becomes more and more difficult though, when the people who are supposed to represent us treat us like children.

Power to the people!

Obama promised us change and I firmly believe come next elections, there will be a lot of changes...in Washington's population. I am seeing more and more folks that are fed up with the politicians selling America for the lowest dollar value. There's change coming...and soon.

This needs to be set to every 'Blue Dog" Democrat. They need to know that they will be jobless next year if they join with Obama/Pelosi/Reid etc. not the people that elected them.

Has anybody noticed how even as popular opinion is swinging wildly against the liberals, they still try to ram their pet projects (like health care) through before the polls clearly show the majority of the country doesn't want this kind of crap? I sit in utter amazement.

Any yes, Labnerd is correct, there will be a general house cleaning come the next election. (At least I hope so!)

2stroked, it's been my contention for some time now that they do that because they don't fear the next election. The democrats have worked very hard to control local election boards by putting their people on them - find the history of the so-called 'recounts' in florida by those people - and to take over the state's secretary's of state, who certify elections.
it's pretty clear they want to control the election process. we have seen how they respect the law and the constitution; it seems clear to me that if democrats have their way we've seen the end of honest elections, and they will have it their way.

Well, if the way the health care legislation has made it's way through congress is any indication, I wouldn't be that confident of any one other than the dems running the show. There is the thread about the second stimulus. Well there is a bunch of the first one that hasn't been spent yet. That's the money, the borrowed money, that the tax payers, your children and grandchildren, will have to pay back, that is going to ensure that the dems can further their centralized government plan. A bunch of Americans will be placated when team Obama starts shelling out the borrowed billions to give them the crumbs they've been craving.

We're going to have to do the job that the media is supposed to be doing, and try to make the people around us aware of what's really going on. Did climategate ever get picked up by the main stream media? All that people with in our government need to do is control the media, and we're reduced to a bunch of lemmings. Guess what, it's in process. The point of no return seems near. If we can't get some better people to represent us in our govenrment this year, we might not have another chance for a long, long time.

I love my country but hate the way our government is going. Especially the way they are treating us soldiers.
