To decide what he will do next, you need to look at the list of things he WANTS to do.

Then narrow that down to what is politically possible.

Here is a partial list of the WANTS:

National Healthcare.
Fairness Doctrine
Limits on the 2nd Amendment
Amnesty for Illegal Aliens
Increased taxes on the Wealthy
TARP II
Stimulus II
Extend period of unemployment benefits
Federal takeover of small community banks that are in trouble due to real estate crash

He needs to restore his popularity before he gets healthcare and amensty. So he needs to take on some issues that most Americans back him on. IMO, this makes tax hikes on the rich and extending unemployment benefits as the most likely.

I think we will also see a watered down national healchare plan and a 'Lite' version of the fairness doctrine.

Once he silences some of the opposing voices, he will have a better shot at amnesty for illegals, comprehensive national healthcare and revising the 2nd amendment during his 2nd term.

 

I dont think hes going to make it to a second term. two years out and the media is all ready covering gov Palin. look at the poll numbers for Mccain when he announced she was his running mate. i think well be saying madam president in 2012.
