Adding Application to iPhone from iTunes

When I click the checkbox "sync apps" it asks me if I'm sure I want to delete all my apps on my phone in order to sync with only the apps on this pc. How can I just add an app from this computer. All the Apps that are on my iPhone are not on this computer so I don't want to sync ONLY these apps.

Have you tried drag and dropping? Im running linux now so i havn't messed with itunes in a while. Is it one you have already paid for? if its a freebie i would tell you just get it off the app store.

Dragging and dropping doesn't work. It's too large to grab off the app store without being on a wifi network, 3g does not allow < 10mb downloads.

I reformatted my PC that had all my audio files on my iphone, so now if I ever want to add to my iPhone I will have to sync it to a computer and erase everything it currently has won't I? Is there anyway to get my iTunes library looking like it used to?
