Vacation

My dad and I will be taking my truck on a long drive from Columbia, MO to Hood River, OR, it will be about 1,900 miles one way. I am planing on coming back the long way and seeing some nice national parks. On the list is Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, Custer National Forest, and Black Hills National Forest. Are there any other stops y'all would recommend for us to see?

From KC to Denver, drive that at night. Absolutely nothing there but grass.

If your going thru Denver then see pikes peak. maybe the Oregon trail.

I agree with that. It has to be one of the most boring, monotonus highways in the US.

Don't forget to stop and see the world's biggest ball of twine!!!!!

If you are going to be in the Black Hills then you need to see Mt. Rushmore and definately go to Custer state park. The wildlife in Custer is awesome. Buffalo, antelope, mule deer and whitetail. Since they are never hunted they are not afraid of tourist and cars. It is also just a short drive over to Devils Tower in WY which is a really cool place to see. Don't bother with Deadwood unless you really just like tourist traps.

I always loved to go hunting... blasting away at squirrels (or was it rabbits?) and buffalo only to be able to keep like half a buffalo lol.
