fz6r / yzf-r6

im looking at these two bikes.
im sure the fz6r would be better being that im a beginner.
has anyone seen these or have opinions on this?

also, why is there such a price difference between dealers?
two that i looked at today for the r6 were 8900 and 10,090.
and i found one online for 7999.

what am i missing??

did you tell the dealer asking 10,090 that they were smoking crack?

You can get a new R1 for that.

10,090 plus fees of around 350
thats when i brought up that i found it somewhere else for 8k and he told me that would be a scam price and that they would have 1000 in admin fees.

they're crazy....

forks on fz6r are not inverted, r6's are. rear suspension is different as well
swingarm looks different.
r6 compression ratio: 13.1:1 fz6r compression ratio: 12.2:1
r6 has multi plate slipper clutch, fz6r does not
r6 has bigger brakes
fz6r gets better fuel economy by 3mpg

just a fyi, i know the r1's just changed this year so the r6's might be getting an update soon. ive ridden an 09 r6 a few times, rides nice, but i would not want to make trips on it. it is a very friendly bike tho and just ride w/ in your means. i think the extra money is worth it to get the r6, also look at a dealership for a used bike w/ a few hundred miles to save some money. kids always go in and buy them then parents make them bring them back.

the only reason i was leaning away from used is because ive heard and seen how other people have used and abused theirs. i really didnt want anyone's wore out bike.

btw, the one dealer had an 07 r6 and was still wanting 7300.

200 miles on a bike i really doubt it got abused. most people (there are some idiots) are still in the break in period so it SHOULDN"T have been ridden hard. im not saying go buy a bike w/ 10k on it, if you can save 500 bucks for 200 miles IMO i would. its still a new bike.
