Ford announcements today
Looks like the Powershift transmission is soon to be on the roads here. It is a dry clutch transmission that uses electric actuation. The idea over an automatic is to save weight. It should also add to the vehicles fuel mileage. Look for it in the Fiesta first and then it will spread to the other platforms. Yeah, I guess you could say it is an automatic manual transmission.
The 2.0 EcoBoost numbers look like 230HP and 240 ft lbs. That's about what the 4.6 puts out in a truck. I doubt you'll see it in a platform as large as the F150 though but it should make a Focus fly.
