Video Card/Driver help.....

Do any of you computer guys know if it is possible to force a screen resolution on a laptop if it isn't a choice under the drop down menu??

I have a 15.4" Gateway, with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD2300. I have installed the lastest drivers, just for safe measure.

Under the control center, the smallest widescreen I can select is 1680x1050, which is a bit too small for my eyes sometimes.

Any way I can force it to accept 1440x900??

Is there any kind of control panel that installs with the drivers? If Windows doesn't give it to you, maybe that would. The control panel may let you define your own resolutions.
