X Plan? Employee pricing?
X Plan? Employee pricing?
Hello.
The wife and I will be replacing her 2000 Camry with a 09 or 10 Escape. Her uncle works for Ford in Detroit.
Before we bother him, are we able to get an X plan PIN or employee pricing through him? Trying to get the best deal possible on this new ride.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply and offer!
I did a little research online about the X-plan, although still am a little confused.
Some had said that X Plan is the absolutel best price you can get and they will not come down on it at all, that is the bottom line. Others have said that the X Plan is a good price and a starting point from which to bargain. Lastly, some had said your best bet is to get the X Plan price and keepo your trade, if you have one, until the last minute, once the X Plan price is agreed upon you spring the trade on them. If the dealer knew you had X Plan they would be less likely to give you what you deserve for the trade.
This is the case for me, my wife has a 2000 Camry in which we would consider trading in if the price were right, otherwise we will keep it and I will use it as a daily driver.
Thoughts and or suggestions? I would like to get the PIN soon and begin shopping next month as we have a little one due in October so Mama needs some new/safer wheels!
Thanks again!

The x plan price is the bottom line except for rebates from Ford, there is no negotiating down on it. If you get a pin and log onto www.fordpartner.com you can check out the x plan price of vehicles on local dealer lots. I think it will show any rebates too? If you find what you want just print it off an take it in and that is what you pay. The dealer is not supposed to charge you a bunch of extra fees for document processing and stuff. the only negotiation is on your trade if you have one. I have bought several on the x plan and if you catch the rebates right I doubt you can do any better.
I just bought a new Ford Ranger this past weekend using this same deal. A friend of mine has a dad who retired from Ford and she gets me access to Ford's "Friends and Family" program, which is the same as X-Plan pricing. The X-Plan price is listed right on the dealer invoice, and then you take Ford's local rebates off of that figure.
The Ranger has $4000 in rebates right now, so I thought "X-Plan price less $4000" was a pretty good deal. Oddly enough, I've usually been able to negotiate "better than X-Plan pricing" on the last few vehicles I've purchased, but this time around I simply could not. If I didn't know any better, I'd say I'm losing my touch as far as negotiating car deals is concerned......
