2 seater ATV?

So, being as i have my daughter and only a crf450x its difficult to take her for rides. im not willing to trade my 450x in, so im looking for a capable atv that can carry me and my daughter (or another adult passenger at times).

I dont want to get something like the rhino, they are just too expensive and get too wide.

i was however looking to find something more along the lines of the old honda pilot fl400 if that would have had 2 seats. kind of like the "hammerhead go-karts" but those haven't proven powerful enough for my liking let alone reliable enough on the trails. the 250cc seemed too mild and the 400 (yamaha motor?) had issues the first time i met it and would not run.

then again, i've only ever ridden dirtbikes so all i know and love is that unruly snap of power whenever i feel like it. opinions?

The only thing that I can think of is the Raptor 700 but I'm not sure if you want to spend that kind of money

Raptors, could poss be the best machine ever built, pound for pound IMO of course.

But for riding double or a knewbie id say go with a better center of gravity. My buddy loves his raptors but he says that high center of grav sometimes don't make it nice.

Can Am Outlander 650 XT or look at Polaris as well.

I would choose the Can Am!

im really impressed w/ my friends polaris 800. him and his bro both have one, there big enough for two people, powerful enough to do a wheelie, and you can do a 3" lift and fit 28s easily. there IFS front and rear, it rides really smooth and will go thru about anything it seems like

Whatever you do, stay away from the Polaris Razor. Those things flip like nothing.
3 people taken to emerg. in 2 flips and 1 weekend.

thats scary since the morrow county ohv ems team just picked 2 of those up.

the big polarbears sound cool, could use them as equipment during the winter too. they boogy good enough to not completely fall behind a stock 450 quad?

Polaris make's a stretched version that seat's two of the XP-850. I just bought the single seat model. Kind of clumsy in tight turn's even with power steering but rides like a Bentley and plenty of power. Can-Am makes a 2 seater also that look's real nice.

The Can Am two ups are nice. A buddy has the 650 Outlander two up. If you are looking at getting used the 07's and older have a few issues to be aware of. The CVT outside cover does not seal and will let water in. This is fixed by sealing the rubber gasket with silicone. Unfortunately the back of the inside cover is well known to leak also and this is fixed with the upgraded cover that Can Am now has but will require the whole clutch assembley to be removed. Check to see if the current owner has had this done. Also the suspension springs on these earlier models have flattened out and the shocks have sheared off. Can Am also has new versions of these parts out too. The CVT intake and exhaust vents are low in the Can Am as well so if you like the water you will have to snorkel them as well.

Don't let these issues scare you off the Can Am but it is stuff you should know. The motors are rock solid and they are the fastest quads on the market. My brothers 800 Renegade XT is a crazy ride and to date he has not had any problems with it other than he did snorkel it.
