Is this a good netbook?

I'm not every good with computers but can someone tell me if this is a good one. http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/asus...tag=mncol;rnav. I'll be using it to type out police reports, download music, surf the web, and attach a dvd player to watch dvds. I'm not into gaming. Does it have enough memory for music and itunes? My brother told me to go with something bigger but I like the size to carry around and have on my lap in the unit.

For that money man just look at a laptop in the $500 range. I thought about a netbook. Ended up getting a Sony Vaio for not a lot more money but came with a ton more stuff.

I have an Asus Eee netbook. I took it on vacation this year and it worked fine for emails and the like. Mine is running Linux. I paid $212.00 for mine. Keys are a little small for my big fingers though.........

Not a bad price now. I wish you could build laptops though. I would never buy a pre-built desktop for myself.

For all of what you are gonna do I would look at getting a 13" laptop with a DVD drive and a little more memory. I am gonna get a netbook just to take notes on in class, and then have a Macbook Pro for my desktop replacement in my apartment.

I have a Eee 900HA, and it's a great little netbook.

glc copied me and bought a 900HA too... The 1000HE is a bit bigger, so it'll be a little easier for typing. If you're going to be doing a ton of typing on it, I'd suggest getting a full size unit. But, the 1000HE will have enough memory to hold music and videos (160 gig hard drive).

Uggh I really hate people who say netbooks are too slow.

Look, they aren't made to edit videos and photoshop images... they are made for very BASIC stuff that are usually NETWORK based, hence the NETBOOK name. If you launch more than an email client and a web browser and *maybe* a word processor, you're pushing the limits of the device. You may be still be able to play mp3s with it, but not much beyond that.

It's a device built for the purpose of portable on-the-go QUICK internet accessibility.

It has plenty of ***** for multimedia. Spend $25 for a 2gb memory module and swap out the factory 1gb module.
