noisey when giving gas

Hello everyone, I'm new to this so bare with me My 2005 F150 4x4 screw makes a noise on start up when idle is high and while i'm driving but only while giving it fuel, it sound like a loud ticking noise. I've been told fuel injectors or exhaust leak. I know they've had a problem with injectors for that year but I don't want to pay $100 to put it on a diagnostic. they never seem to tell you anything unless you show a code. anyone have or hear of this problem, thanks

Welcome to the site.
Your problem does sound like an exhaust leak. You will have better luck if you post this in the v8 engine forum. Be sure to include your engine size in your new thread.

Good luck

Hold on. In Ontario, maybe. Lower Mainland, BC has it, too. Edmonton and Calgary, don't. So, it's not Canada that has them, it's either municipally or provincially enforced. BC doesn't have a system in place for the whole province, neither does AB.

Anyway, do you know what the requirements are for the emissions test? Vancouver's AirCare just did an exhaust test last time I was living there.

Don't let it bother ya - when you ask a technical question in General Discussion you are gonna get these comments. You should get proper help in the engines forum. However, the thread title is kinda asking for it no matter where you post it...................

thanks glc I posted it in the engine forum and used the word throttle...lesson learned. And MTYLERB I was just speaking generally because I was responding to a guy from Michigan. In ONTARIO its a full out emission test including gas cap. they check ppm on all emissions from the vehicle. if you fail you fix it, repay for another test. about $65 each. no pass no sticker.
