Thinking about a lease

Alright, so heres the deal. Im a ford guy, always have been always will be. But my 04 f150 is really starting to **** me off. Ive never had problems with a ford like i have with this truck. It only has 39k on it and iva already had the head gaskets reaplaced and now the dif seals in both wheels are gone. I want out! I have a loan on it now and owe about $14K, i cant afford a big down payment so im thinking about leasing. Does anyone lease a truck? Also, it will be commercially registered. Is that ok? If i leased a 250 can i plow with it? And what are some average monthly payments on an f150 or f250? Thanks guys

they might let you plow with it, but idk. if they don't you could always just buy an old one and use that. a lot of times guys sell old trucks with plows.

Yeah, im trying to stay away from a used truck, especially with a plow, as I bought my current truck used and its been hell for the last year! Im trying to get as many of my leasing questions cleared up before i go to my least favorite place in the world. The ford dealership!

With the way the economy and auto market went, Big 3 leases suck. A lease on a F250 or 350 will be above 600 most likely. Most f150s leases end up being in the 450+ range. Might want to find out what your dealer has to say about using a leased truck for plowing too. If the stuff would be covered or not.

Im noticing the nissan in your sig. Im actually considering a titan too, as my dad drives an altima and my mom drives a pathfinder. They love them but those arent trucks. How do you like the Nissan truck?

I wouldn't trust a foreigner to make a truck. They don't use 'em, so why would they need to know how to make 'em properly? If you can't get a Ford, at least go Dodge, Chevy, or GMC. I really dislike the styling on the Chevy's and GMC's, though.

Titan is ehhh. It's alright. It's behind now in the competition, and it will be gone in a year or two. If you want a plow, definitly go Ford super duty. ONLY get a titan if you can get a loaded one for extremely cheap. Midsize wise, the Frontier is the best in the class.

Like I said tho, if you want to use it for serious work, super duty is the way to go.

I'm leasing at this moment. Lease prices got me into the lease, and it was about 2 weeks in I didn't like the idea of having that lump sum to deal with in 3 years. To get out, you pay all the rest of your payments up-front.

I guess there ok, but I'm trying to get into a new truck and out of my lease because I'm half way through my lease and I'm 5k to being over-mileage at which point I will have to buy the truck at the end or pay dearly to give it back.

Things like commercial ****, should not be spoke of in the dealership, once it's yours, they can't tell you what to do with it, and as long as your not abusing it, your warrantly will stay. Ford wanted me to have plates and extra insurance(package policy) ready before they handed me the keys, once the added insurance policy came due, I just took it off, which ford sent me numerous letters to re-new. I didn't. What are they going to do? Take it away? Its been a long time since I've heard from them about it.

But it's BS like that that is making me finance through my own bank this time around, and I won't look back. My money, my bank, my truck. No more "Don't do this, Can't Do that..".

My '99 and '02 were both on a lease. The '99 was an extended cab XLT with the 4.6. 359.xx a month. The '02 was a XLT Supercrew and was 429.xx a month. Both leases were the one where at the end of the lease I could finance the truck or turn it back in. None of this ballon payment stuff.

There is a lot of math in leasing, and if you don't know what your doing the sales manager may take you to the cleaners.

Ask to be shown:

1) The selling price of truck?
2) The residual rate used for your calculation?
3) The money factor used and what interest rate equates to it?
4) Are there any additional/hidden costs in the lease calculation?
5) How many miles are allowed?
6) Is there a security deposit required?
7) Do they charge $600 extra to process the lease?

Your objective is to increase residual rate, decrease sales price, decrease money factor, eliminate additional charges. You may not know what to look for, but you'll sound like you know, and that may be enough to keep them honest.

You would be better off to take the 04 back to where you bought it, state your case, and ask them if they can do better.
