How does the x-plan work?

I've been thinking about trading in for a new vehicle. Anybody know how the x-plan works? I read somewhere that people who own Ford stock are eligible, but I can't find any way to verify that. Is there a website or something that I can go to that will give me the info?

Here at work we have the X-Plan option through ford. It is as follows.

X-Plan represents "no haggle" four-percent above dealer net invoice pricing or four-percent above Ford Motor Company employee (A Plan) pricing, which is below dealer invoice pricing. Ford assists by supplementing the dealer's commission on X-Plan sales. On Mazda vehicles pricing is just below "dealer invoice" price. The S-Plan is noted on the dealer copy of the invoice

HERE'S HOW TO GET GREAT SAVINGS:

Make a note of our Fleet Identification Number: XXXXXXX
Log on to www.fordpartner.com or Call 1-877-XPLAN-00 (877- 975-2600) and request X-Plan.
Provide the Customer Service Representative with our Fleet Identification Number, along with your Social Security Number, Name and Address information.
The Customer Service Representative will provide you with a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).
Visit a participating Ford, Lincoln, Mercury or Volvo dealer and identify yourself as an X-Plan customer.
Confirm your eligibility by providing the dealer with your X-Plan PIN number, Social Security Number, and providing proof of employment at Baker Hughes (company ID card or a recent pay stub).
Select your vehicle and confirm the cost by asking to see the Dealer Invoice for the vehicle. X-Plan pricing is four percent above dealer net invoice price. Dealer net invoice price is the A-Plan price listed on the dealer invoice.
Complete the purchase or lease agreement and take delivery of the vehicle.
For any clarification of plan rules, call toll free 1-877-XPLAN-00, before closing any sale or lease transaction.

Now. What you want to be careful of is once you go to the dealer and find youyr vehical and give them your X-Plan stuff, the fun begins. They start playing the number game with you. Went to get my '04 GT with the x-plan...sticker was 28,xxx.xx on the one I wanted. Gave all my X-Plan info to the sales guy came back and said we can do that car for 21,xxx.xx + TTL Ok sounds good lets do it. Get up stairs and all of a sudden it was 32,xxx.xx walk out the door. At which point I got up and walked out. They tried to slip this infront of me and just get me to sign. It was very very sneaky. Sales man told me one thing, financing was another. He just started throwing papers at me saying "oh just sign...your good to go". I thought something was up when he would print it off fold it in a way that all I could see was the bottom of the page. Just watch them.

I have use the x plan several times. From the fordpartner link you can get on the local dealers lot and see what they have and what the x plan price would be. This should be your price! The are not supposed to hit you with a bunch of doc or processing fees. They may have to add tax title and license by law. The only negotiation you should have is if you are trading anything in. Otherwise you can print off the x plan price on a specific vehicle on their lot from the website on your computer take it in say I want this one and get it for that amount. Can be a great deal if you can catch the rebates on it also.
