I say good job Ford! I'll continue to buy Ford! You have two groups!
1: Preserve the forests and trails so people can walk on them for many, many, many generations to come.
2: Screw preserving I want to drive over, pollute, and destroy the land. As long as I don't have to get out and walk to get some "Fresh air, I'm happy".
Before saying that I'm retarded. Just try it! Go out hiking, go biking (stay on the trails), walk with your dog or whatever! You'll start to understand... There is LIFE outside the cab you know! I was forced to understand this because I couldn't afford the gas for my truck anymore and you know what? I'm happy this happened to me. It helped me realize the "Life outside the cab" thing!

Ford takes that side because percentage wise, I'd say 99% of people are environmentalists and 1% are four-wheelers/motorcyclers/etc. That's also why hard-core wheelers bitch about the new fords being only for grocery getters. Well duh, grocery getters are 99% of the purchasing force! If 90% of the country was anti-abortion, I'd bet you that Ford would give lots of money to anti-abortion causes as well. just one of those things they do for PC so people will say "what a good organization, I'll buy one of those!"

don't forget the middle ground too.
and don't confuse conservationists with preservationists. a preservationist wants to turn the public lands into wilderness or other areas to preserve the "naturalness"; a conservationist wants to use the resources responsibly, conserving them for future uses.
in reality, not all land can be preserved, and not all can be used. that's why there are cities and there are places where there aren't cities that are public lands. and on the public lands, not all of it is suited for hiking, or timber production, or mining, or four-wheeling, or cattle/sheep grazing, etc. we all have to work together and share the lands and recognize that not every spot of land can be used for every use, nor should we allow all land to be used by one use. these uses can be very specific to the area.
i love four-wheeling, but i don't do it everywhere. i stay on established trails because that's why the trails are there. and when i go hiking in a wilderness area, i like that there aren't toilets all over the place or vehicle tracks. and when i go to a national park and stop at all the pullouts and read the informational signs about the geographic features i get a kick out of that.
just for your info....there are some folks who want to use the land responsibly for a variety of uses, not just the extremes you pointed out.

Don't worry I'm not a nut, well yes I am but not a big one. Well okay you got me, I'm a big nut. In fact I love nuts. Where am I going again? No one knows...
Nah as long as people stay on the trails I don't really care! It's just that when I went 4 wheeling and even mountain biking I see some retard doing it on purpose to spin the tires to get the vehicles dirty. Or moving rocks and bushes not to scratch there little trucks. Not to mention the garbage these slobs put everywhere on the trails which I picked up and later put in the trash! When I took my truck to the mountains I was staying on the trails and knew that when I got stuck, I'd get help instead of spinning like a fool.
It's because of a few morons that everyone has to pay! That's what I'm really mad at and wish they could never off-road again! Luckily we have groups like Tread-Lightly or some very good off-roading groups that take care of there hobby.
When I needed to get my truck dirty I went to construction sites or those fields near my parents place that people bring their gardening waste to. But that place can swallow a whole truck sometimes LOL

Ok, I saw the thread, someone mentioned nuts...and now I must say that I am about as nutty and strange as people get. So here it goes. I love to go 4 wheeling and motorbiking, the reason I go isn't like most peoples, I go to get away from people. Most all people annoy me, they just do stupid things. So I go to get away, riding my motorcycle I get plenty of fresh air and excersise but I don't just throttle it to tear up the turf. I take care when I go off road, but I don't like the trails, they gives to the chance of seeing people, so I stay alone (or with 1 friend) and take care of the planet.
