I was at Incirlk for 2 years. The history and sites were amazing. I had my Chevy Astro there and even took it to Alanya a few times. Very hairy ride through the mountains and along sheer cliffs. Gas wasn't that expensive then and shouldn't believe it would be $8 per gallon because of the supply being so close. Based on the way the locals drive, I would either want something small, nibble and quick so I could get out of the way quickly or something big that others will get out of the way of.

when you get there just buy a beater car from someone leaving, these "beater cars" last for years getting passed around that way

I spent a couple of months there on a remote communications site. Trip to town was really something with no paved roads till we got there. It was a long time ago but I remember it was a whole different world. I can't say I disliked it like Tripoli Libya.
