Post Fact

Just the facts.

* Fact - Ford is recalling and replacing all Firestone wilderness AT tires.
* Opinion - Future buyers of Ford products are paying for new tires for other owners

* Fact - Ford is only repairing door cracks on vehicles still under warranty. All other owners of same vehicle are not getting any help from Ford.

* Fact - Ford F-150 has now a "poor" crash rating.
* Opinion - Insurance cost are going to go up. And do you really want your family in this product.

* Fact - Most owners of the RDS radio have no idea how it operates.
* Opinion - Did you really want to buy your vehicle from a salesperson that had no idea of the operation of the radio. (otherwise they would have showed you) All they cared about was profit and a good survey! (Ford is forcing the survey issue with "Blue Oval") What about product knowledge!

* Fact - I own 5 Ford trucks, I worked in a Ford service department, I sold Ford vehicles.
* Opinion - Thank GOD there is Chevy?

Geez Tampa you're still getting all pi$$ed off about this whole tire thing huh? You know if you don't like Ford then sell all your Fords, quit your damn job, and get the hell out of here. I noticed one thing.....you just like making stuff up don't you (the door cracks fact). I got a call from my local dealer today saying that Ford will be paying to have my door cracks fixed. I don't have to pay anything to get them fixed. And my truck is no where near under warranty any more. I have 52,000 miles on it and its a 97. I also know of other people on here whose trucks are out of warranty that are getting them fixed for free. Next time research before you post crap like this.

dude

your getting a P05 After-warranty Repair.
You get two repairs under this warranty,
both have to be done before 7 years or 75,000 miles. after this repair you only have one left. its a goodwell adjustment from Ford. get your facts straight. Also they have to repaint your door, do you want a body shop repainting your door and hope they get the color matched. Plus the quality of the spray booth and even ness of the paint aplication. Just facts dude. not opinions

Sounds to me like Ford is taking care of it. Even if it is under the 7yr 75,000 mi thing. Still means that they're taking care of it and not leaving everyone that is out of warranty out to dry. The Ford rep called it a "recognized problem", don't know if that makes any big difference.

About the body shop work.....the place that I will take it is a very good place. I have had a couple of doors and fenders repainted there over the years and I can't tell any difference between the repainted door and the factory paint. They also got a brand new paint booth about a year ago. Bottom line, its the best body shop around, and they beat all the other estimates 90%+ of the time.

No door cracks, no tire problems, great dealership, quality product, great service, and I really like Ford F-150 trucks!

Enough said.

FACT: You're PO'd about something. So, you're taking out on us.

FACT: You're probably happier in a Chevy. So, why aren't you driving a Chevy and leaving us to our Fords?

FACT: You have nothing constructive to say. So, go to a Chevy board where you'll be welcommed.

FACT: You're getting obssessive. Time to go see somebody about this problem.

Opinion: While it will cost everyone down the line, it also is buying current Ford owners peace of mind, making some (obviously not all, like those who think like you) more likely to return as a Ford Customer. If you don't like it, then fine, buy a GM. Nobody is forcing you to drive a Ford.

Opinion: Fine. So there is a cosmetic issue with the doors. I don't expect Ford to fix everything and everything just because its a Ford, no matter what the time and mileage. Would it be nice - sure, see the above item. I just don't expect it. Should I expect them to fix the doors just because its a Ford despite the nearly 126,000 miles I've logged on it? If they want to fine, but otherwise deal with it.

Opinion: Depends on what crash test you put your faith in. I have a hard time accepting numbers and opinions from an agency that is primarily funded by the insurance industry. Anyone see any motives there with the #1 selling vehicle in America? Government ratings at least have some semblance of impartiality, no matter what the results. So, insurance costs go up. Deal with it. Will I put my family in my truck - of course. This beast is still way safer than my other unairbagged, unantilock braked, etc... vehicle. Face it - life is dangerous. Should we all drive around in nerf cars at 1 mph so nobody gets hurt? We all make our choices.

Opinion: Don't know or care what this is. Its your fault from buying the vehicle from someone who didn't know anyway. Nobody forced anyone to buy from someone who didn't know. That's your responsibilty. If you have someone without product knowledge, then get somebody else.

Opinion: Enjoy your GM products. I'm sure they will be without any of the faults you note above.
Yes, I am glad there is a GM, a Dodge, a Toyota, because competition is the only thing that will make each product better in time.

Why do you guys even bother with posts like this? He's just doing it to get a rise out of all of you (and he's doing a pretty good job of it too.) Who cares where he works, what he drives or what he thinks? Let's get back with the usual friendliness we all show one another and leave the cynics to sit and complain. This thread will eventually have to be closed if this nonsense keeps up anyway. Frankly, if I could, I would.

Tampa-
I hope you keep posting about your "Facts and Opinions" about Ford. It makes me laugh that you have nothing better to do, just crab and crab about Ford.

Help me out on this, but isnt it a fact that you said a long time ago, probally at least month ago that you were pissed at ford and were going to sell all of your fords and get chevys or some other brand?

Maybe if you stop complaining and accually do something about it, you will be happier!

Have a nice day from a very happy ford owner,

Brian

To Tampa Harley, you're 100% correct. Whatever you say, you're 100% correct. I now agree with you 100% and I think everybody else does too.

To the rest of us, I think if we just agree with him no matter what, he'll give up.

Pssssttt... You think we fooled him?

BTW, I'm going to make an effort to just ignore this guy in the future. I suggest we all ignore him. The fewer replies to his posts, the faster they'll get buried.

I just love the excuse he keeps coming up with.

Just the facts guys.

Damn wish I could keep coming up with original come backs like that I'm gonna be just like him and sell my 2 Ford trucks (because they suck!) and go and buy all GM products and be cool.
