Post can't think of a subject

Anybody else getting tired of this site besides me? I'm getting tired of all the bashing and bulls!it going on here. Steve doesn't like anybody posting anything about chapters. Seems like everybody gets along at the "other site." Yes there are a lot more members here and you get more responses but some of the responses are rude or something of that sort. I also like the way the forums are set up here better.

There is nothing that says you can't visit both sites. I'd guess there are good and bad with both. I rarely go to the "other" site, only because this is where I starter out with this stuff. Yes there are some unpleasantries at times, but it keeps things interesting. I feel like most of the people here are alright! Your well known here with that cool blue F150 and the flaming link. Your established. Why would you want to go now?

1) No boat owner but want to buy one, a 25' Baja cruiser.
2) I just moved here 3 months ago and, honestly, I'm having a hard time adjusting. City boy moving to a quiet town.
3) Used to go to the Blue Ridge on my sportbike, now it's too far. Once I sell it I'll go back to mountain biking. By the way, anyone interested in a '00 Suzuki TL1000R with low miles??
4) No, not antiques, somehow I started collecting these scale motorcycles Wal-Mart sells, only 2.99 each.
5) I lived in and visited a lot of places in Mexico, where I'm from, I can say I've seen 80% of it. In the US I've lived in Dallas, LA, Raleigh and now Montgomery. Also have visited New Hampshire, Massachussetts (spell?), Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, DC, Baltimore, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Louisiana, Arizona, Colorado and California.

Hey Roadrunner, great idea, now we have 5 topics in one. I do agree with King James, it got a bit boring for a while.

I like it here better because there's more information that I can use here.

When the other site was started and there was a huge controversy about chapters, some members here got really hot under the collar and really flew off the handle. This left me with a really bad taste in my mouth.

Luckily, they went to the other site and made that their home and things here settled back down. Unfortunately, for several months after, they would come back here and stir things up. What was once just a bitter taste in my mouth turned into something putrid. I couldn't see how I could be a member there considering how some of their most "respected" members acted here.

The bad stuff you see is only because of the numbers of members here. The more members there are, the more you will see this kind of stuff happening. It's just a fact of life that a certain percentage of the members will cause problems.

Steve does his best and certainly, sometimes it seems like he comes down with a heavy fist, but sometimes that's just what's needed.

Bottom line is for what it costs us to be a member of this board, we should be able to over look a lot of stuff, don't you think? If we were actually paying a fee, then maybe things would have to run differently.

I wouldn't be surprised if my post brings certain elements crawling out of the woodwork.

I can't always say I agree with you on everything you say but this time I agree 100%. Your right with this many people, you will have a few bad ones in there. I say it's a great site, I spend most of my time here but, I won't lie I do visit the "other" site too.

Thumbs up

I think that in order to register here we must provide a valid F150 VIN#. It would eliminate many disgruntled NON Ford owners!
Now, for those who didn't get it I was being facetious which is another way to say sarcsatic. LOL!

guess in part that it also depends on what forums you visit. I usually click on 'today's active topics', and depending on what time of day it is - can get between 5 and 300, just now it was 20 or so.

So i clicked on this one here. My first suggestion what to say that i was getting tired of big signatures, but to be honest, it doesn't really bother me. I know mine is small, but that's why there is chocolate and vanilla - different flavours for different tastes.

With regards to Steve - i think he does an admirable job, with the online store, email lists, all the archives, the format and of course what i use the most - the forums.

There is a lot of valid info here, from many knowledgeable people. It's invaluable. The other site that I check out - because my girlfriends car is riddled with problems is on for VW cars. The boards there are alive and kicking with flames. Off topic everywhere you go, to the point where i usually look at that site first, get tired of it, then get some good news or tips on this one.

Answering your question, if you are tired of it, and it is possible, just take a break for a week or two. You'll be back, just like we all are.

Some times Boards have a few dull days, but it always picks back up.
Which is worse: Can't think of a subject? or Some one posting a subject that has already been covered at length?
With message boards, that is just the nature of it -human nature, to be exact. The more people in any given group, the more # of disagreeable persons there will be. But some times even the disagreeable make a point now and then.
There is this irritating little person at this one software message board that I go to. I did my best to bite my keyboard and ignore their ignorant statments focusing instead on the statments that were worth discussing. I figured either he would wise up or just continue to the point where nobody would answer back and he would leave. Well he didn't leave but, now that others have started humoring him too, it has become quite a source of entertainment for us.

It all depends on what you see when you look at a pile of lemons: possible delicious lemonade, or possible putrid rotting fruit. It's up to you to either add sugar, or let it lay around and rot.

Exclamation

I was a little disturbed by the chapter business. It was almost "blood brother" in nature. It worked itself out in time. I won't pick sides or sites simply because I enjoyed talking to some of those that have since defected to the other site. I still enjoy talking to them once in a blue moon. I can't say much about the love of their trucks. It's their right to do whatever. I am not in to chapters but I understand their desire. Basically, as long as everyone is happy, then I'm happy. I don't visit the other site very often because it doesn't grab me. Ford Truck Enthusiasts doesn't grab me either. This site is comfortable to me.

You are free to leave at anytime, that's your perrogative. As you are aware, there are alternatives out there for you.

If you feel more comfortable elsewhere, goodbye. If you intend to stay here and complain about the site or the way I run it, I would rather you leave anyway. Posting a message like this can only serve to insult me and the hard and money word I put into this site.

Following threads that I move or close and inputting your $.02 is not needed. If you have a problem with the way I run this place, contact me OFFLINE and stop trying to cause problems on the boards.

Steve

And, THANK YOU for posting all of the positive comments about the site in this thread. However, thread closed because I feel the only purpose for starting it was to cause problems and it will likely go downhill soon.
