My Boss' project.

I guess that is the correct possessive form of the word boss.

Anyway here's a quick video of his project. It's a 1979 Ford Fairmont with a 4.6 3V crate engine from Ford Racing with the "Hot Rod" cams. I think it's pretty cool when you see new technology in the older cars.

Yessir all motor. He took it to Pinks a lil while back. I'll find the times in a sec. Yeah that fuel pump sounds like a fricken train horn.

EDIT: Here's a quote from another website that he posts on with the time he ran at Ennis.

motor is a 4.6 ford racing 3v with their hot rod cams and longtubes. it has a tko600 trans and 4.30 gears. i'm having a hell of a time getting the fresh tko 600 in 3rd at high rpms, but double clutching and milking the 3rd gear shift resulted in an 11.41 @ 121.5 with a poor 1.78 60'. car weighed 3045 with me in it. there's lots of potential left in driving, 60' and weight reduction. the picture is of my first pass with a 1.63 60', but it had to be aborted because of a badly missed shift. i'm looking at options for having liberty face the gears on the tranny to help with, what i hear, is a common problem.
He has since gotten the tranny fixed so it should do better next time out.

Slap a Kenne Bell blower on it and the skies the limit!

Here's the blog with the complete build.

1979 Fairmont

I think he may run nitrous a little later.

Cool project and fun videos (well, except for the annoying sound of that fuel pump).

The motor sounds great!

That thing has *****, and once he dials it in and masters the transmission and launch, it's going to be a beast.

Nice! I wonder how many of those Fairmonts ended up as race cars? A lot!

Yeah there were quite a few. You need to swap one of those into your Mustang, Bluejay.
