Popular GM Models to get the Boot
Sorry to hear Pontiac is on the chopping block. My first vehicle was a '78 Pontiac Sunbird. Of course, it was a POS, but I loved it. Saturn and Saab - not too crazy about either. Hummer - the biggest freakin' mistake GM ever made. It was a joke to bring a military-ish vehicle for public use. My next vehicle will be a Ford. Hopefully, the tide is turning back to American manufacturing. Probably won't reap the benefits in my lifetime. We'll see. IMO. - Og
I read that 12 of 48 individual models will be axed.
The entire Hummer Brand (Which is supposedly now being sold to an undisclosed buyer)
Hummer H2
Hummer H3
Pontiac G5. (If not all of Pontiac)
Buick Lucerne (Or Lacrosse- one of the two)
Saturn Outlook
Saturn Sky
Saturn Aura
I think I also read the Trailblazer would get the axe too, but that can't be true- being at one time, the best-selling SUV.
If I find that article, I'll post it.
But, if anything is in the most trouble at GM, outside the 20,000 employees- are the Saturn, Pontiac, and Saab brands, in addition to the models mentioned above.
The one thing I never liked about GM was the rebadging of the same car- and selling it to the public as something different. I think this creative laziness, concealed in a blanket of R&D dollars saved and multiple reuses of the same platforms caused many America's to get bored. Ford & Chrysler are guilty of that too, but not to the extend GM was. Which is why GM is probably hurt worse than the other two.

I wonder how I would feel if I ponyed up $35k-40k for a new 2010 Camaro only to have the company that sold it to me go bankrupt??
This country is in the crapper $ wise, I sure hope this Hindenburg starts to pull up soon.
This stuff really doesn't hit you until you drive by a Gm dealership that used to be there just two weeks ago and now its a ghost town.

Maybe China will take Hummer as part of a debt buy down...
I also heard the Camaro was going to cease to exist-too bad-first and last year I guess....
The sad thing is that the domestics did this to themselves...Open the door a crack and this is what happens...

They are killing the Camaro already?! Sports cars (except the Mustang) don't tend to last long. They say Mazda loses money on every RX8 sold, but they keep selling them. Mitsubishi still sells the Eclipse.
I haven't met a person yet who didn't like the new Camaro- I can't believe they're considering waxing it so soon. Say it ain't so!
That G8 is bad-****... I think the "weak" G8 has 400 HP. If Pontiac goes, it'll probably go too. Call it the "Chevy" G-8, and keep selling it.

It truly was a pos!
It sucks about Pontiac. Although the only 2 new Pontiacs I would buy are actually Holdens, it is an iconic muscle car brand. Sucks to see it die. GM isn't selling Holden, are they? Hopefully some rebadged Holdens will be sold as another GM brand.
