Bug spray does more than kill bugs.....

An FYI,

I had a can of "Off" brand bug spray sitting in my back seat, got in my truck to go to work this morning and I smelt something funny. Picked up the can of bug spray and a little had leaked out and it had melted through the letherette material (on lariates). Not much I can do to fix it other than buy a new seat.

This sucks, not a good way to start off the day.

Anybody know where you can get an genuine OEM replacement online.

I have learned never to sit anything in my seats. Ice cream, milk or toilet cleaner.

I bought some toilet bowl cleaner once and it was in two Wal Mart sacks. Sit it on the floor of my wifes Toyota. Got home and it had leaked out a very small amount and ate a gigantic hole all the way through the floor mat. Carpet was OK thank God.

This is why I put that kinda stuff in the back of my truck. My dad hauled some Muratic acid to one of our stores in his Suburban and it leaked and ate the carpet on the back of the seat. He wasnt happy because he had only had the truck for about a month when it happened.

People really have to respect household chemicals... believe it or not, in many cases, they're actually stronger or have more hazardous ingredients than their industrial counterpart... Here's an old MSDS for Off! spray... most people wouldn't realize that they're spraying a chemical that is very similar to toluene on themselves... along with butane, isobutane, propane, and ethanol.

Lots of ugly chemicals within a lot of the products that we use every day... respect them.

Bummer on the seat... best of luck getting it taken care of...

We've secretly replaced mdhawkin's can of "Off" with a can of "On"...let's see if he notices the difference.

Sorry, lots have, so some times I assume too much

When you get to the dealer you want to use, you will see a listing for the catalogs, mechanical or collision ( some might call this another name, like body parts ).

Enter the info in the thread above, and the listing will come up with a menu on the left hand side.

The tress I types out is the route on the left menu to find the part(s)

Do confirm this is the correct item with an email to the online parts dealer you choose to use.

I remember someone asking on here if it was ok to use RoundUP to kill weeds near veggie plants... after reading the MSDS, I wouldn't even use it on my lawn.

Yet someone on here said you could drink it as it was so safe...

Only if you want them dead too. Sight wind, and you are having dead ground for 2 years.

Liberty is worse. You can kill stuff within 2 blocks real easy.

Drink it ?? I missed that brain trust's comment.
