Turned the truck in today... :(
Well, I thought it was gonna be a keeper- but the wife wanted to "upgrade" so we let the Buck Fifty go, and picked up the BMW.

They came and inspected it today, and it was flawless. As soon as we were handed our documentation, we drove to the Ford Dealership and dropped it off. 2006 F-150 XLT SuperCrew, with 23,940 miles on it.
From what I hear, the local dealer can't resell it- it goes to Ford, then Ford send them to auction for bidding. We would have gotten the Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer- loaded, but they were acting the fool at the dealer. They were willing to deal as long as we were willing to bend over and take some negative equity (by trading the truck, rather than lease returning it).
Once we removed the truck from the equation, all of a sudden there were problems getting us approved, and we were offered outlandinsh interest rated. I guess they didn't want to discount the vehicle the way it should have been (X-Plan, minus $5,000 in incentives), we get the stellar deal we should have gotten, and they get no trade- so they kept trying to milk us for $3,000 down payment, and $700/month notes, so we walked. Ended up with a good deal, and full warranty on a used Bimmer.
So, instead of two Fords in the garage, for the first time in 8 years, we have an import as a primary vehicle, and one Ford.
It's been 10 years since we've been without a truck... This is gonna take some getting used to. One of my wife's friends said "It's about time you guys "came up" and got rid of that pick-up truck..." I didn't know I was "slumming" in my F-150. I thought it was a very nice truck...
Well- whatever- I liked it- and will miss it...
Farewell old friend...

I hope this doesn't mean you'll be joining one of those preppy BMW forums and leave us all down here in the interweb slums.

I joined the E60 forum- but, there's no place like home...
BMWs are nice until you want to haul something home..
My thoughts probably mean little but you seem very sad to get rid of the F-150, so why did you?? I have the idealology that we only go around this dust-ball once so why not be happy while we are doing it??

18 months later we traded the MDX and the Fusion, and got the 2007 Edge. So, the Edge was mine (althogh it was for her) and I took the 2006 F-150 as my full-time vehicle.
She was tired of the truck (although I was the one driving it) and wanted something with 3 rows. Well, long story short- we didn't get any good deals at Rodeo Ford, so we stated looking elsewhere, and happened across a few very nice, low mileage BMW 5 series, and E-class Mercedes. We both liked the BMW better, and we pulled the trigger on one.
Although the Buck-Fifty is gone, at least with this car, we have a full warranty, bumper to bumper for the next 3 years/36,000 miles. Although the truck performed flawlessly, I will sleep better knowing we're still covered by a warranty. I have too many friends who've had $3,000 nightmare tranny repairs... I don't want to join that club.
Now, how will I get my lawnmower from the shop?

Gotta find a friend with a truck now, who doesn't have a tonneau cover on it.
