Freaking out over moving!
Freaking out over moving!
Just thought I'd acquire some opinions from here. Looks like I'll be moving into an apartment for 6 months until I find another new house to move into. I've found a decent two bedroom in a complex that has plenty of open parking for my truck. The truck is a lifted f150 with XD wheels that are locked.
The location is pretty much in a city setting but I've noticed a few other stock rigs in the same complex same with some nicer end cars. Do lifted trucks tend to stand out to the petty theives who enjoy breaking the windows late at night? I've never had to park in a group setting where I've lived before so I'm afraid to let my cash cow mingle with other vehicles!
Any guys with good/bad experiences in their lifted rigs living in apartments?

i never had a problem with my truck the 5 or so months i lived in an apartment. we had tons of vandalism but i was lucky enough to be out to late at night every time
we had about 2 other lifted trucks in my complex and to my knowledge never had any issues. my sisters truck got keyed once and broken into once. both times they cought who did it and had to pay to get it fixed or got prosecuted and got everything returned.
i did live 2 blocks from the college so its kind of expected to have high vandalism rates near a college. every time it was a student, both the times my sister got screwed with the kids had both been expelled or got expelled for what they did.

You might want to consider talking to your auto insurance rep. Make SURE everything is noted within the policy that you've done to your truck! Take pictures, everything. My insurance rep had me give him copies of all my receipts of any mod/accessory I wanted covered along with a picture of it in the truck.
Another cool thing, when you get a house again, ensure that your truck is covered under the house insurance too and they are dually notified of the mods as well.
