My lemon was on TV!!!
I know many of you have listen to me bitch and complain about Ford and my truck recently. Well after going through all of the motions, talking to 2 sepeare dealers, meeting with regional reps and field service engineers and still going nowhere I decided to turn to the local media.
As my luck turns out the station I wrote to was very interested in my story and came out this afternoon to interview me. After spending an hour talking to me and shooting some footage (including the 4x4 shifter **** falling off trying to get it out of 4L) they hurried back to put the story together for tonights newscast.
Initially the dealer, Dave Pirro Ford declined to appear on camera, but I received a call around 4:30 stating that the owner had requested to be interviewed. He stated on camera that I could have a new truck tonight if I agreed to Ford's deal. Unless it has changed Ford's final deal was for $2,000 of assistance, which I hardly consider fair since I've paid out more than $10,000 in the past year for this vehicle.
To my surprise they aired my story in the first 5 minutes of tonights newscast, (I didn't think it was that big news). I am very happy with the way my story was told by the reporter, I thought it was very well done!! This guy took the time to call me and ask me to contact the dealer the first thing in the morning to see what his offer was and to let him know and so he can put together an update.
Hey wrong radiator folks!!! The part about my truck having the wrong radiator installed was included in the story which pleased me greatly. I'm going to try to encode the tape of it for my web site if anyone is interested.
I'm very curious as to what the dealer is going to offer me tomorrow. My guess, nothing different than before.

GOOD FOR YOU! I am really happy the TV news took it so seriously & gave it such high priority in their broadcast. That's what you need right now.
I bet the dealer wants his say NOW, after he gave you such a brush off till this point! I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to "do right by you" & increase what he's willing to give. Detroit must not be too happy either - GOOD! Seems they respond best when they are pushed hard enough. Why can't they learn to cooperate BEFORE it has to go this far?
As I see it, when a lease is up Ford EXPECTS the vehicle to be returned in good shape & to have been well cared for since IT'S THEIR VEHICLE. Well, then they should be more concerned about THEIR VEHICLE from the start! Oh how I wish I could have come out there & talked to that dealer - you'd have a new truck & car by now - he'd give you anything to get rid of me! LOL!
Keep us posted & make sure you come to chat later & give us all the details! Bye!

Hey Y2KOffRoad ! Good for you, now park your truck outside the dealership with a big sign that reads "Lemon as seen on channel...". Offer free coffee and/or donuts so LOTS o' people stop to check it out. That'll get the dealer a little nervous! I've seen lot of that around here!
Heres one I personally used years ago on a Chevy Dealer. Make a big banner and put it on your tailgate reading:
" I bought this Lemon at -------- Dealership."

a number of years ago i went up against a dealer and spray painted it all over the truck i had bought (chevy) he finally took the truck back after realizing i wouldn't go away. tried to have me arrested for parking my modified truck right next to his dealership, tried to run me off the road, not good seeing as the chevy truck was bigger then his caddy, tried everything he could then took it back.
Wow, I have never seen anybody actually protesting in front of a private establishment. Does it really work? I guess it did for Wildchild, but in general, does it work?
Maybe I could hire myself and Raoul out to protest various dealerships for those who don't have the time! We could dress up in costumes for an extra charge. If it's a Jack A$$ costume, I'll take the head.

Had problems with that dealer and many others around that area. Had a 88 Ranger. No one wanted to fix it. Finally blew the engine at 36,000 miles. Took 6 months to get a new one installed. This was back in 92. Met my wife in Camillus when I was stationed at Seneca Army Depot. She grew up in Marcellus. Great area, might move there after I retire. Just thought I would BS. Good luck with your fight.
I got results that way!!! A deal is underway, see the link in my sig!
