American capitalism gone with a whimper

I realize that I'm one of the only ones left who give a crap about what's happening to our country. At least it sure seems that way. If you don't care, this thread isn't for you.

You might think that it would be some right wing nut job like Limbaugh or Hannity that would author an artical like this. It's not though. It's Stanislav Mishin, from a non-American perspective. It's an interesting read if you've got a few minutes to spare.

Its pretty damn depressing.

I used to think the talk of secession was just for a bunch of loons holed-up with guns and 17-year-old brides in an underground compound out it West Texas -- now it sounds like a perfectly plausible course of action!

I'd move.

It's pretty damn depressing.

I feel sorry for our American children, including my own, who will spend most of their lives living in a socialist country.

Never thought it would happen so fast, but here we are.

The country has lost 16,000 jobs a day since Obama became president, despite all the spending. But the main stream media can't stop licking his backside.

Soon, maybe we'll be enlightened every Sunday with The Obama TV show, similar to his South American Counterpart, with his marathon speeches.
It is very similar circumstances, IMO of course.:ll:

A long time ago, a very wise (and wealthy) man taught me why this kind of thing can happen in this (soon to be formerly) great country. Let me quote him exactly: "People are stupid!"

I am not stupid and will not go down without a fight.

Many people care, it's just that those same people feel helpless. They see their country being taken over by the Democratic Socialist Party and the Democratic Socialist Party-Lite(Republicans). I have heard many people say in the past 8 months or so (since the Un-Constitutional bailouts began) that the only way to stop it is armed revolt. As if that's going to happen.

Did anyone notice the mention the cyber-czar that Obama is going to appoint? These "Czars" are a slick way to circumvent the Congressional vetting process.

It's going to be a rough ride folks. I am so blessed that I don't have kids. They would not have lived to have the freedoms that I had. And I say that with much sadness for my country.

A few months ago, I would have called this discussion "Republican belly aching". Today, I'm not so sure. Only time will tell. I still doubt that Democrats want to make this country a communist nation, it just doesn't make sense. What exactly would they gain from changing from a democratic society to a communist one?

What, are they going to hold the country hostage? Still doesn't sound plausible...

It's more about the power than the money. Worldwide Americanised socialism is the goal.

4.6 Punisher May 29, 2009 10:39 PM

What exactly do they think they can do as a socialist nation but can't do as a democratic nation?

IMO It sounds like a justification for hating the other side.

Tumba May 29, 2009 10:59 PM

It starts as a way to stop the more fortunate, from stepping on the less fortunate people. It ends in stagnation and collapse, because the doers have no reason to be inspired.

And democrats stand to gain from that how? That would be like pissing in the well, over and over again.
