got my house robbed today, pretty bummed

No one was home so not a problem. But they took both laptops, every pic I have from the last weeks of my deployment and the last 2 months are gone with it, my sons PS2 a couple of cameras and my I-TOUCH. They broke the frame of my back door and got in that way. Didn't take any of my knives or anything of monotary value but what I have already said. They did take however, my wedding ring. That was what hurt the most. I really take that personal. I don't wear it to work as the rules don't allow it and my wifes name is tattooed on my ring finger but she chose that ring and it was engraved with here name in it. Damn thieves!!! What a way to come home. Well thanks for listening. Dave

sorry to hear that. what'd the cops say?

pawn shops have to report everything they buy so make sure they have details at the police station on what was stolen and you might luck out.

Sorry about your loss. From the description of what was taken, I'll Bet the thieves were pretty young.

Sorry to hear. Keep your chin up. Maybe the authorities will catch them.

I'm not sure, but isn't there a way to trace the laptops? Sometimes you have to call in to activate a copy of Windows. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone will try to activate over the internet. They could possibly red flag/track the serial ? Iduno, might be worth a shot to inquire about it @ Microsoft.?

That's got to be horrible feeling. Was there any information such as your social security #, bank account numbers, and such that they might have access to while there or even on your computers? I would keep a close eye or even put a 90 day watch on your credit reports just to be on the safe side. ID theft can really take its toll. Keep an eye on Craigs list too.

Their day of reckoning will come.
A house in my neghborhood was burgalized by two teens.
When they were climbing out the window, one dropped his wallet containing his drivers license.
It wasn't a tough case for the authorities to crack.
For added karma, the $45 in it mysteriously dissappeared before the homeowner turned the wallet over to police.

Our local McDonalds manager was robbed in a carjacking type incident on her way to the night deposit.
They were apprended but, how did the robbers know who and when to stop to get such a big score?

One of the robbers had received a cell phone call ten minutes before the robbery from a McDonalds employee.

Here in small town America. When stores make their daily deposits, the Cops will escort them.
Small towns have some advantages.

Just remember man its only stuff, you have insurance for a reason. Just stay positive and thank God that the wife and kids weren't there and they didn't walk in during. Good luck, I hope they catch them for you.
