If ford was't around or didn't make trucks, what brand would you buy?
Dodge trucks are just plain ugly. Will not even consider anything from GM. Toyota Tundra all the way. Then I guess it's my bike.

I couldn't agree with you more in terms of the reliability of asian made bikes and the computer systems in their vehicles. It makes them GREAT commuter vehicles and that is about all they have going for them. Racing may be another story, but my experience is not with racing, bikes, or cars. My three FORD's are trucks, in the true sense of the word...and are used as such. Toyota trucks just cannot compare in terms of power, durability, strength, history, and class. As a functional vehicle, foreign trucks can't compete in our market. They sure get good gas mileage, but don't put more than one leaf of computer paper in the bed or you will bust the rear end. Toyota #2??? NO WAY!!! I will pin ANY American made truck against foreign made in a heartbeat. It's too bad Pepsi often loses their own challenge, effie.
My $.02

chevy because honestly, i almost bought one....cus it was a good deal and it woulda been my first truck. but luckily i found a ford at a better deal. the only thing i wish ford would do is make a dash like the chevy's......i like how theirs kinda wraps around u in the 70's and 80's models. i know ya'll will prolly wanna kick me outta here after saying that but im only 16, im gonna buy what i can afford. im very happy with my ford. it's a 93' f 150 4x4 long bed with dual tanks. i cant believe ya'll said yota though. there's a reason the word toy is in there. i took auto shop and spent time under many a foreign truck. wanna talk about soda can thick metal. wouldn't trust my life to them damn trucks. anyways just my two cents. besides dont dual overhead cams belong in cars.
well being 16 i dont see how you can have much experience with foregin vehicles, even if you looked under the hood once. but i DO agree with you on the chevy dash. i like the wrap around style as well. also that little lighted message center they have is way cool. it even tells you when you need wiper fluid!! but a dash isnt going to make me go out and buy a chevy.
Who said Peterbuilt! Or Kenworth...or Freightliner...

I hate to even have to admit this here but it would be Toyota.
1)Tacoma's and Tundra's are made in the USA.
2)Even after getting my F150 I kept my old 86
Toyota 4X4 to be used for the tougher off roading I do as part of my work. I have this horrible feeling that even though I intend to drive my Ford until the wheels fall off that old ****roach of a T*y*t* will still be around and outlast it. Especially if my experience with coolant leaks, transfer case electronics and defective windsheild wiper switches etc. is anything to go by.
3)The Ford does everything better than my Toyota. Faster, comfier, looks better, rides nicer, hauls more, gets nearly the same mileage, you name it. But as far as ruggedness and reliability go, no contest.
Before the flames come in the question was
"What would you buy if Ford didn't build trucks?" I did have my choice and did buy an F150 that I am happy with.

I wouldn't mind having an International Scout II or TravelAll like my father had when I was in highschool/college. The TravelAll was old. A '60 something model. A real tank. I think tanks rode better. Even had split rim wheels. Talk about sweating bullets when airing up those tires. It was awesome, though. Nothing could stop it. My friends and I had a lot of fun times in the TravelAll. I swear you could put 4 people in each seat. I think it had close to 200K miles on it when he gave it to a friend after the tranny finally bit the dust.
Truck freak, i do apologize if i may have offended you. now reading back over my post i can see how it may have seemed defensive and offensive. sometimes you dont realize how others will take what you think until they have already read it. my intention was not to offend you, merely question the basis of your knowledge. once again, sorry. look foward to discussing other topics with you.
